So in 10 years or so they will move to Hockey?South Florida HS basketball has ascended. I wonder if more high-level athletes are choosing hoops over football?

Luckily, the other four J.Smiths a year reside outside of SoFla which means Miami has a much better chance of landing them than if they resided in the tri-county area.In the 80s there were about five Jeremiah Smith athletes from South Florida every year, now there is one every five years
Not great for the Canes
Or build a 40M stadium and pay coaches and players with the restā¦.We just need to build a bunch of $62M HS stadiums...
There are students from South Dade-ish and North Palm Beach-ish that attend STA and AH.
It happens.
To @gogeta4 's point...it is also happening for public school attendance/athletics particpation as well. Those are private schools though. It is similar to the DMV where you have kids playing at private schools in DC and nearby Maryland and Va suburbs who live 30-50 miles away. Sometimes farther into Baltimore, Delaware or nearby Pennsylvania area.
Not sure its been that huge a drop per se. Other regions of the country experienced 70s/80s SoFL-esque population booms about 20 yrs ago...and voila!Itās been a sudden drop. From 2010-2020, South Florida was the top region by a mile. Now, it seems most of the top talent is concentrated at the EDGE position.

Cardinal Mooney has multiple power 4 prospects-They are a really good team that no one talks about-They will probably win a state championship in their class classification which is 2A.Aquinas looks pretty bad so far
The ones that flashed were 1 and the back up QB #7. They have two guys OL. 55 and RG 54.Cardinal Mooney has multiple power 4 prospects-They are a really good team that no one talks about-They will probably win a state championship in their class classification which is 2A.
Aquinas QBās did not perform well-The 3rd string Cody Conness looked better than both of them
If they arenāt to have a chance against Mater Dei
Brady Hart or Mason Mallory better step up.
Literally my entire middle school years my mom and her friends were contemplating moving to Georgia, some of them did, kids in my grade moved there, some family moved there recently as well. Much cheaper up thereGod's honest truth...
I wear a LOT of UM polos and shoes...and I am CONSTANTLY getting into conversations with Miami expats who have moved to ATL and want to talk about them Canes.
One dude stopped his car in the middle of a Publix parking lot to talk about Carson Beck. It's just wild how many people from SoFla have moved to ATL.
Travis Hunter is an example. Born in Florida, but moved to Georgia for HS based on his mom and affordablity. He isnt the only one. Demographics and economics have had an impact.A lot of black families moving from South Florida to Georgia has also been an issue and impact. Big reason why I would argue Georgia probably has the best talent overall.
school choice we have an absurd amount of charter and private schools and parents are going for these. especially in broward where the parents have the finances.
