So......

Improvement is all we can ask for at this point. There was no improvement for the first 5 games. We may have actually gotten worse week to week. A lot of that was just inexperience and a tough schedule, but it is what it is. There has been some improvement the last 4 games.

I am content. Not ****ing all over my self. But content.

I'm happy we are laying the wood again man. When was the last time we did that? Besides that Ray Ray shot against Oklahoma, and a couple hits by DP last year, I can't remember us hitting people this hard.

Like others were saying, running backs going out of bounds, receivers getting dummied, everytime Logan ran he was getting hit hard. Did you see his uniform post game? Straight mangled. Our conditioning and our strength are going to start intimidating people again in the future. Its a beautiful thing to see.

And the D had no help from the offense. Specially in the 3rd quarter. Those boys took it like men. There is a storm brewing...

Totally agree, the defense could have easily folded up the tent and went home during that 3rd Qt, but they kept fighting, loved the intensity.

Good points about the offense. Seems as they have sputtered, the defense has stepped up.

The defense would have looked at lot better if the offense didn't have 4 straight 3 and outs in the second half..

He's playing more man to man and it's showing.

I saw Howard & Gunter press a few WRs at the LOS tonight.

See, this is always hilarious to me.

They've improved, so clearly it's because the defense has done whatever YOU have suggested.

We've been mixing in man coverage all season. Just like we've been blitzing all season. But all of a sudden guys start playing better, and it's because the SCHEME is magically better. No, guys like Porter and Pierre are stepping up inside. Linebackers aren't blowing coverages as frequently. Our run fits have been better. DBs are breaking on the ball with more confidence. Guys are finishing plays and not letting the QB get away.

D'Onofrio is an experienced DC who knows what he's doing.

I'm still about where I was with him. I never called for him to be fired (although I would have understood had Golden done it) and I am nowhere near crowning him. Our inexperience at some positions and lack of talent at the others distorts his performance to me, and made it too hard to judge whether it was his fault we were so bad, or whether it was due to the lack of experience/talent/experienced talent.

It is promising that our defense looks much better at times when we have guys like Porter and McCord back there instead of Darius Smith and Shayon Green. It is troubling that we have been close to dead last in the country in defensive yards much of the year, even though we are seriously lacking talent at the most important defensive positions (DT and DE). I just don't think there is any way to know until next year whether or not he is good or bad.

We showed our nickel package a lot last night (more than any other game)
How can you dispute that?

It has nothing to do with fitting my agenda. We played UP on WRs more last night than any other game.
It's as simple as that.

**** Kacy Rodgers was jumping slant routes in m2m coverage. We are better suited for man.

Someone else had it right. We might not be able to put the D back in Onofrio yet. But we can safely put a small "a" back in "corch" =

COaRCH ONOFRIO

If the D keeps improving, we can first capitalize the A and then eventually remove the R.

I would give him the apostrophe after last night's performance. Two more games like this and he gets a lowercase d in my book.

Good job Coach 'onofrio!

He's an excellent coach, playing with a lot of spare parts. He turned down the HC position at Temple to be here, and we're lucky to have him, internet fandom notwithstanding.

THE TRUTH

on the other hand we have nowhere to go but up its not like we could get any worse, we were ranked 119th....

Like I said we have the best fans in college football. Miami football where the most arrogant and irrational fans roam and where the blind lead the blind. Where we can hardly get fans to show up for a game but they will fight endlessly on a message board...even support Canesport, well after Nevin's story dropped (Canesport is Yahoo!), the ENEMY.

I have seen people defend previous regimes (still), I have seen people beg for Harris to come back at play QB (and say he is better than Morris). I have seen people say were are young on defense but then ***** about the results out there.

To the board, give these guys some time to fix things, give them a chance to implement their program FULLY and bring in their team. Give it time.

No one wants us to be 5-4, we all want more but give these guys a chance with an open mind. Prepare for some type of sanctions and another season of ups and downs. Stay calm. Don't give up yet on 2012, we still got a lot of season left. Go to the games, go on the road...support the program, be a real fan.

They rotated a ton of players last night. They still have a ways to go but u can see the defense has a much better understanding of what they're doing out there. Lots of true freshman have been playing meaningful snaps and hanging in there.

Defense is lookin better week to week these past few weeks

Hes slowly being upgraded from Dorito to Pringles
