So what went wrong?

Did anybody else happen to notice on the 4th and 1 that Marty Brown got stuffed on that if he bounces it to the right of Bauman he scores a TD?

You want a real answer?
Absolutely. to someone who didn’t play football at a high level, it looks to me like we are 1) a highly undisciplined team, 2) whose OC doesn’t trust his QB to win the game, and 3) we don’t have enough of a talent advantage to overcome 1 & 2 once other teams get enough tape on us.

but would love the perspective of someone who actually knows what they’re looking at.

Mario, every season, believes he can wear down every team he lines up against. But, his BS only wears down his own team! Hes like an old school powerlifter who thinks the answer to every problem is to stop being a *****. Hes spends crazy amount of time and resources to recruit top athletes just to 'pound-the-rock' in every 3rd and short scenario. I wish Saban/Jimmy or whoever he confides in would pull him aside but we all know he doesn't have anyone like that in his corner as he knows it all already..

Also, I definitely understand why UGA wasn't sad to see Carson leave. He has everything you want in a QB except the mental toughness. I fully expect him to blame Toney for running the wrong route in OT! For a 5th year Senior, he has the composure of spoiled brat. I dont have to watch the post-game nonsense to know Beck and Mario probably pointed the finger at just about everyone else.

What went wrong? We have a recruiting coordinator masquerading as a HC. And, every season, by November, the team starts the see it too

You could see this coming in the second half against ND and some of the questionable decisions made down the stretch then. Like last year there were red flashing signs but this year they weren’t as easy for everyone to see…until it was too late.

We all know what went wrong. The question is, when will this guy ever look in the mirror and admit to himself, that he has to change his ways. He’s been given the keys to his dream job and he’s too stubborn to see it’s slipping away, and it’s completely his fault. Adapt and fix your ways. It hasn’t worked your way and it won’t work your way. You can start by not calling the Brockermeyer Backside Dive ever again. Baby steps.

There were plenty of red flags in those games but anyone who dared mentioned it was brow beat with the "STFU we won the game bro!!"
"what more do you want miami covered the spread against stanford! you must hate miami! Not a real fan!"

some of these dudes are legit slow

The number one stat for wins is explosive plays. Mario is allergic to them! Two other stats that are highly correlated to wins: turn overs and penalties. Mario’s teams have always been highly penalized and when you play conservative and need to win from behind it increases the risk of turnovers.

Over rated ( Bain )? He gets held every play . He will be day 1 pick and start . The rest I agree with
I’m sorry man. Even when he isn’t held. He’s not closing or finishing as someone as hyped as he is should. Pressures are cool but he doesn’t get home, like he’s hyped.

Sitting at 4-0 and up 28-3 over FSU going into the 4th quarter 28 days ago.

Looked then like we may well be the best team in the country, but then all of sudden — except for a second-half surge against lowly Stanford — things begin to turn sour.

What happened?
The signs were always there. They were there during ND and UF. It seems you (no offense) and many others may have chosen to ignore them.

Every Mario team seems to hit its stride coming out of summer and then hits a wall mid-late October and completely stalls or even regresses in November while the rest of the country adapts and/or gets better.
