So we finally offer Treon Harris as a QB.

GTFOH with that bullsh*t. How the f*ck you know what he wasnt or wasnt on top of regarding MT or Kirkland?

Says nobody could have any idea as to the intimate dealings of the staff with regards to Thomas and Kirkland.

We CALLED Kirkland's bluff, becuase the kid was playing us. If ANYTHING, we caught the kid before he F*CKED us on NSD like Randy and Coker got f*cked year after year with kids playing us for fools.

Pretends to know exactly what happened with the staff and Kirkland.

Not only that, if we did call his bluff and didn't get ****ed it's only because Coley let us know what was up. Golden and his dopes were going to get played just like Coker/Shannon.

And what did it matter that supposedly called his bluff anyway? How did that help us other than to pat ourselves on the back for being great fake detectives and not being part of a signing day hat game? Did it help us land a replacement for him by calling his bluff? Did it help our reputation in any way? Sure didn't seem like it did.

I don't know why I was expecting reasonable comments in this thread.

Another black hole of negativity and hate.

“Yes sir,” Harris said. “I’m not considering any other offers.”

His older brother Brandon Harris shined for Miami from 2008-2010 and his dad, Booker T Washington head coach Tim ‘Ice’ Harris, coached for the Hurricanes under Randy Shannon.

Miami offered Treon Harris as an athlete, not at his preferred position of quarterback. If they reversed their stance on that offer in January, the prospect already has his answer in hand.

“I would be like I don’t hear them,” Harris said.

“Trust me man, we’re getting Lane and Cook,” Harris told 247Sports early Tuesday afternoon following the U.S. Army All-American practice at Heroes Stadium. “I know that for sure. I don’t know about Rudolph. He told me he was coming on his official visit but I don’t communicate with him a lot. I communicate with Cook and Lane the most. We are pretty cool with each other.”

Smooth move Al. Well played.

Kirkland was a mistake. They didn't like him. Several amateurs on the board disagreed. He was a freshman All-American.

In retrospect, perhaps some were too hard on Ice Harris.

So we didn't want Kirkland? That's the first I've heard that part. Wow.

The staff wasn't high on him. They were going to take him as a package deal with Thomas.

That's....shocking.

I have loved our OL recruiting but that.....well **** it....whatever.

I disagreed that we didnt offer him at QB but w/e...if...IF its true that golden offered him now its an embarrassment

C4L has convinced me. This is a great and well conceived move. Al is a genius.

Its not about being a genius move. Its about saying that Im pretty confident they thought this through. These guys arent morons, and this isnt their first rodeo. NOR is it their first time dealing with BTW and the Harris clan. Barrow, Hurlie and Coley know the deal down here. These guys didnt just up and decide to offer Treon without thinking about it. My FIRST guess, is that they are looking to take a 3rd QB in this class, and KNEW that if they didnt at least give Treon a courtesy offer, it would look bad, not becuase they think he would take it, but for the community's sake and people who may feel that we are disrepsecting the "local kid". I think thats about the best course of action they could take in that situation.

Exactly.

I'm just hoping this is a rumor, which it very well could be.

That said it wouldn't surprise me if its true

This is embarrassing.. Either HBK or Rosier are out or the rumors about Olsen are true.

The staff wanted to see the kid make unbeleivable plays, against tough competetion in several different ever zip codes, pull out close games, and go undefeated...because there were doubts until they saw every single game played of his Senior year....SMH

With how tight we are on numbers, if we are offering Treon, someone is not coming. Doesn't have to be another QB, but someone that this staff originally thought was coming isn't coming and they know it.

Or they feel we are losing a QB on the Roster and need to take a 3rd. And Im pretty sure its not Gray Crow they are sweating about.

We can only bring in so many players. Even if we are losing a QB, we just can't simply add another number to the overall total number of new guys that we are bringing in.

And with that said, for the love of God, you absolutely offer Treon Harris before you offer Malik Rosier. I mean, to not do so is almost comical. You guys argued to the death that it would do more harm than good because "what if Treon lost the QB battle and became a cancer to the team." Now, in freakin January, we extend the offer. smh. This is a cluster****.

NOT, if you are reasonably sure hes NOT going to take the offer. IMO this could very well have been a political move, to undercut any local bad blood if we DO offer a 3rd QB. Instead of saying, "Hey lets run out and offer Joey Jo Jo from Kentucy, we better give Treon an offer first, knowing he wont take it, but at least people wont say that we slapped the kid in the face and never offered, THEN we can go offer Joey Jo Jo".

A dumpster fire indeed, my friend.

We've already had 3 QBs committed.

Let me interrupt all the whining for a second here.

Do we actually have a shot at him at this point?

He's a very prideful young man who has been recruiting hard for fsu. He's locked in. Pillary Duff was late to the party again, mojombo. Deal with it.

Because they felt they were being played and lied to? Are you f*cking for real dude? How many years have we b*tched about kids jerking us around, playing us, doing the bullsh*t hat game with us, leaving us at the altar on NSD??? And then we actually happen to CATCH one, in the act. Coley came and blew the whistle that the kid had also committed to FSU and was playing games. Barrow GAVE HIM THE CHANCE to come clean and be straight with him and affirm the commitment he had ALREADY MADE to us. And he DIDNT. Kirkland is not here, becuase he didnt want to commit, when he was caught playing games and exposed as having been committed to other schools.

And now that is another example of Golden's stupidity. LMAO. I mean the bullsh*t in here is so deep it would drown a Giraffe.

Or the local community can sit back, roll their collective eyes, and question the staff's evaluation, just like virtually everyone on that planet has in regard to Miami's recruitment with this kid. Give it up and stop trying to put a positive spin on every move this staff makes. It's more of a slap in the face to him that he's held an offer this long, yet has to wait one month until signing day to receive an offer to play the position he wants.

This is almost as pathetic as when the staff offered Skai Moore in February of last year.

We've already had 3 QBs committed.

Edouard was dropped. That was plain as day. They werent going to flat out pull the ship, but they did everything possible to nudge him elsewhere, so its clear they never had any intent to have him be the 3rd Qb. And AFTER he left, we did NOT really go after any other QBs, so there is NOTHING to suggest we intended to take 3 QBs in this class. Once we got Kaaya and Rosier, Edouard was pushed out. And we havent gone after any other QBs til now to replace him.
