So we are ranked #9 in team recruiting with 6 days to go until NSD

I’m actually shocked rivals bas is that high. Havent been on there in forever. I think 247 is a a lot mor accurate at #15. Jmo

I hadn't looked at Rivals in a long time either, but happened to see it this morning. You're right, they usually have Miami the lowest of all the services.

Quite impressive considering. However one huge area of need wasn't addressed. Without OL we will never be good. Rivers is a start but we need about 5 more.

You can't say it doesn't matter. Adding talent matters whether your 0-12 or 12-0
Yes and no. I used to think that, but we normally waste our talent anyways. Then teams like Clemson were built on mainly 3 stars.
AND most likely our coaches won't do **** anyways, so yeah idk if it really even matters.

manny is ron zook

hopefully our next coach can be like urban meyer
He ain't no Zook chill

I think Zook got way better talent.....maybe someone can expand more about the Zook years cause I really wasn't into cfb as much during those times.

maybe it isn't that shocking. kids are all about their brand right. well we still have a pretty **** good brand.

Shouldn't be that shocking. Wisconsin wins 10 games **** near every year. They're 26th on the composite.

There are about 500 other factors that go into which schools recruits choose other than how many games you won the year before they even enrolled.

The other site has us as 12th and they have the same amount of 4 stars and 3 stars for us as rivals they just calculate diffrent. The only diffrence isnthey have WR X a 3 star

Either way this is still amazing to me after watching the embarrassment you would expect mass exodus. Oppisite we had 3 four stars and counting and nobody bounced besides smith and eiggins and they was pushed out
That's why some of us been telling u guys it's not about wins and losses. Recruiting is a whole different animal. Knighton pledged after FIU proves it's not about wins and losses so I don't get why everyone acts surprised. Recruiting is its own separate entity compared to the on the football field results

Ron Zook benefitted tremendously from following Spurrier. The gators were still mostly a powerhouse when Spurrier left and Zook took over. They won a natty in 1996, but Spurrier still had 10 wins in 4 of his last 5 years leading into Zook.

So that "momentum", plus Zook definitely being a good recruiter, lead to some talented classes.

Spinach washing season!!
Going to the local market to pick some dirty ones up.
Gonna be a lot of I told you so coming the 18th from the mopes or the believers. It’s gonna get really ugly or borderline pornhub in here.
I can feel the tension from both sides. I can feel it in my plums!!

wake me when the ink is dry...seen this movie waaaay too many times.

It's why I never expect any kid to come that way I can get excited about it when they do and don't get disappointed like so many years in the past when they take the bag and run.

Hope the class stays together.

I mean, 6-6 with possibly a top 15 class, that's magic like your username

Haha what I mean is, and I've been saying this forever, the common fan puts far too much stock into W/L record. Miami has a TON to sell an 18 year old kid. Yes, even the Miami who lost to FIU. So what I mean is, Miami really isn't losing out on much talent in this particular class because of the 6-6 season. Who would Miami get to push them to a Top 5 class if they were 10-2? Remember, that's a very big jump. You'd need several very highly ranked kids. Is Donell Harris not coming here because we're 6-6? I don't think so.

Sure, a winning program definitely helps. Of course. But recruiting has become a business. And it's booming. Kids are making business decisions. **** near every team plays every game on TV. NFL scouts scour the earth for prospects. If you can play, they'll find you, and you'll make a lot of money playing professional football. It's not imperative to every kid that they go to a team in the playoff. There are just so many other factors now and the kids are making business decisions. But if you read this board, you'd think Miami will sign a class of 0 kids and the program will fold. Thankfully the 18 year olds considering coming to school here are far more rational and intelligent.

Nah I get what you're saying and I actually do understand it, but also most top kids want to go somewhere where they will win and be on tv just like you said, well, when you're winning you're on TV more, more primetime games etc, now the business part is definitely true $$$. But Miami consistently losing to less talented teams definitely hurt us in recruiting bro, because it makes it seems as if we can't develop talent to it's full potential, so top players may look at it as if they'll waste their talent here.
