so the smoke begins (Fall Football Conference Updates)

As soon as u can articulate a singular, cohesive thought as to what the purpose of the NCAA is regarding leadership, I will. B/c right now, EVERY sportswriter & columnist is questioning the leadership of that entity that GOVERNS the teams that are apart of it’s legislation.

And just so u know, Roger Goodell definitely governs ownership and how the NFL is ran. It’s voted upon, TOGETHER, with him presiding over it. There’s the NFLPA, ownership, lawyers, and Goodell, ALL TOGETHERdiscussing matters pertaining to the league he oversees.

So miss me w/ ur NCAA apologist attitude. Right now ever conference is going rogue; u know why? B/c the governing body is NO WHERE TO BE FOUND TO OVERSEE WHAT’S GOING ON IN ITS LEAGUE.

So they have the power to cancel the NCAA tourney to protect its players & fans, as u eloquently pointed out, but all of a sudden they are handcuffed regarding the NCAA football season? FOH. Don’t reply unless u have a concise answer as to why leadership in the NCAA have not oversaw discussions. We’re not talking bout no **** dictatorship, we’re talking about plans, and overseeing discussions of its league.
you’re also full of shyite Because you’re upvoting other people comparing goodell to the NCAA when I did the exact same thing and you told Me that I was wrong and “goodell definitely governs nfl ownership”. BS, the owners give him power to serve their interests and if He doesn’t serve their interest, they will take that power away or give it to someone else. You then went on to tell me if they have the power to cancel the NCAA tournament, theres NO reason they should be handcuffedover the football season, when I directly refuted that, laid the differences out for you, and the ESPN article also spells it out. maybe If the franchise just copies and pastes my words, you’ll admit reality

Here let me help you along. Ohio State is a state school, the Governor of Ohio is Mike DeWine The “big wigs” in Cbus are far from liberal if that is what you are hinting. Now here are some facts from inside the room at the Bug 10 meeting, Cliff notes version. Fall in the Midwest is promising a spike in virus cases according to multiple experts at multiple Big 10 institutions and at the end of the day, this was the deciding factor. This has nothing to do with politics, I promise you. I have said for the last 6 weeks Big 10 football was a huge ? No school president is turning their back on 120 million in revenue over politics. Hate to tell you, if you think football in the other 3 power 5 conferences is a given, it’s not. There are tons of moving parts and if one or two stop moving.......

Ahhh the multiple experts again.. I’m curious, who are these “experts”? Are they as distinguished as one, Anthony Fauci? I don’t think I need to remind you how many time he’s waffled on subjects, not to mention being flat out incorrect. When’s the last time he recommended to the general populace how to better improve/ramp up your immune system (you know, something that actually helps fend off sickness)?

As for this spike in the fall - these experts are genius I must say! They already know it’s going to be the big bad Covid that roars back. Flu somehow no longer exists.

These guys can’t provide accuracy in testing, doctoring death certificates, literally push to end all way of life as we’ve known it (we’ve been thru several other “pandemics” in history without this idiotic reaction). And you can’t see how people think this is political??

Since you’re so tied in, how about you tell those dumb****s to actually consider the other side of the fence? And the simple fact they just buried collegiate athletics by making this decision. Well done guppies!

Lol; so now u’re stalking who I upvote?? Lol.

So if u recall when u compared the NCAA to Roger Goodell, I specifically said that Roger Goodell still overseas ANY decision affecting his league. The Commissioner, along with the owners, NFLPA, and lawyers are all present to discuss things that affect the NFL. Your rebuttal to this was why would the NCAA waste its time trying to talk to 70 different commissioners that would go no where.

U’re so triggered for whatever reason about a point of the NCAA’s farce of power. The NCAA is a governing body, a governing body which has members in its organization giving them expressed power in certain matters. Again, 5 MONTHS AGO, the NCAA could’ve easily intervened with said members, just like Goodell did, and hash out plans, v. what we’re seeing now. THIS is why they are being called out.

So u can either accept that or not. Maybe Emmert is ur relative or something, I don’t really give af as to y u’re going so hard to defend an entity that is nothing more than a figurehead and has been exposed as such.

And just so we’re clear; the NCAA’s interest is supposed to be the student athlete, and maybe that’s their first mistake in getting away from its core values, which is due to all the money generated. That revenue has blurred lines. Regardless, they could’ve easily presented viable options, options that could’ve been rejected or accepted. What we’re seeing now is absolute panic mode b/c said governing body sat back idly and allowed its members to figure chit out which is now leading to frustration.

The chit ain’t rocket science

The NCAA did just cancel all fall championship games/tournaments for all sports in the fall.

Whether it applies to football or not, it was done to put pressure on the three remaining conferences. The implication behind it is it isn't safe to play.
100% pressure from the Big 10 ( and Pac 12)

The ncaa canceled what their bosses allowed them to cancel. They have no independent power when it comes to P5 football (or anything else for that matter). They are an arm of the institutions to which they serve at the leisure of no matter how much those institutions try to make the ncaa appear independent.

I conveyed your feelings. You may want to familiarize yourself with Dr Robert Redfield, he’s the Director of the CDC, appointed by Mr Trump in 2018. In case you can’t find any info, Dr Redfield Today warned Americans this fall may be the biggest health crisis in US history. This is just a tad bigger than football. Soon 200 thousand United States citizens will be dead from the virus. Stay well my friend.

You’re beyond dumb. im stalking you because I noticed you’re a hypocrite? you must have lots of stalkers then. we agree that the NCAA is a hollow organization, but you for whatever reason think that they should be exerting this supposed power they don’t have. I am saying it Isn’t that way and shouldn’t be that way because the football conferences have the power and won’t give it up to the NCAA and They specifically say on their website what their role is, which is in the article. you are calling Them a farce because you associate them with a “governing body” and an “organization”, and apparently associate those terms with power. And sure, roger goodell is involved in proceedings between the nflpa and owners but He’s little More than a mediator And bangs the gavel when the vote is taken. The conferences are specifically excluding the NCAA because their opinion doesn’t matter to the conferences because it’s their money at stake and the NCAA has ZERO power to interject themselves into the situation. And like I’ve said a thousand times, each conference is going to do what is best for them. What other conferences do have no impact on the Others because they can still play games And collect their tv money they negotiated in their contracts

Do you realize yet that goodell works for the owners? He doesn’t have power over them and definitely not more power than them. When it comes time to vote, goodell doesn’t get one. The o ly power he has is bestowed upon him by the owners, similar to the conferences and NCAA. They each chip in $1.5 mil or so for him to work in their best interests and make the owners more money than they pay him so it’s financially beneficial. the NCAA doesn’t even have the power to subpoena College players or force them to talk to them when investigating infractions, But keep thinking they could have solved this problem with their “governing powers”

Since you’re so into labels, I can take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed for you too...I got spare time.

I don’t think this postseason is factoring into the B3’s decision making in any significant way.

See this is how the trouble on this board starts in threads with derailments. Now others are responding in kind. Go back to not poRsting trouble like you have for the past few months.

Wait, what? RVA I like you man, and Gator Tears is a national treasure....but come on.

I can have any opinion I want. It's not my fault how people respond to it. I didn't disparage anyone, directly or implicitly. It's like you cherry picked two words out of what I wrote to try to mischaracterize what I was doing.

My point was that boosters and by extension the AD, who happen to be mostly conservative white men, are not on the same page as the female liberal interim president at Ohio State. I'm not saying either side is right or wrong, just that it's understandable they're not on the same page yet.

Now please cut it out with the accusations.

Go back & re-read what I posted, SLOWLY and maybe u would get what I articulated. The owners do not just go rogue in the NFL. Go see what happened regarding The Patriots. There are laws and bylaws, with the Commissioner overseeing such laws & bylaws. What I’ve said for the 1000th time; the NCAA, as it is a governing body of the student athletes, could’ve gotten together with the conference commissioners and came together with some viable options. If those conferences decided to go with or against is of no consequence, but I bet money there would’ve been more uniformity if planning was involved. What Covid-19 did, was show how there is no uniformity as it’s been made to seem.

If u don’t get this simple fcking concept, U know ORGANIZATION, then I will personally find out every fcking teacher U’ve ever had and slap the dog chit into their soul for giving u a passing grade & not admitting u to the special ed classes.

P.S - out of respect for my good friends @RVA Cane & @IndayArtHauz I erased my original response to u so they wouldn’t be put in a compromising position to permaban me.

I’m told Nebraska has now contacted Roger Goodell and plans on joining the NFC Central.
