so the smoke begins (Fall Football Conference Updates)

you’re obviously too stupid or dense to understand that the NCAA exerts power And decision making authority over march madness because they own the tv contracts for the tournament, its not a conference by conference basis. They get 86% of their revenue from that tourney. They also crown the national champion. Now here’s the difference for the slow people, the conferences own the football tv contracts, not the NCAA. They aren’t involved at all, so it’s nothing like college b ball

The NCAA has also NEVER crowned a college football national champion In It’s 100+ year History, they merely recognize who others choose. Ap writers and coaches, and nerds formulating algorithms in their moms basement have had more say in who the national champion is in football than the NCAA. The cfp is completely separate from the NCAA, so was the bcs. And who ruNs the cfp? Yes it’s the conference commissioners. the bowl games Have agreements with the conferences, not the NCAA on who plays in them. So why tf would you expect the NCAA to have any say on what the conferences do when they have nothing to do with the football contracts or postseason, and no money in the game?

doesnt Matter what you think it should be Based on invalid comparisons to college b ball, the conferences run college football, not the NCAA. they have no leadership role Because the conferences run everything and they wouldn’t let the NCAA run THEIR businesses. How many times have I said it? if you can’t get that through your head, your arguing with reality
Your comprehension is remedial at best. You say they are a governing body, which we agree upon, yet you’re making all kind of excuses as to the main point that you continue to neglect, which is getting the conference commissioners together and discussing a comprehensive plan. You first compared the NCAA to Trump, then Roger Goodell, yet when I brought up the purpose of Goodell, U’re now going another angle. YOU brought up the NCAA tourney to discuss how much power they will, you dummy; speaking of which, b/c I don’t Fck w/ dummies, and u continue to go round in circles neglecting the only argument that me, ESPN, NFL Network, CBS radio and any other credible sports outlet have had, I will bid your bytch ***, ado.

Colleges are all liberal. Trump ain’t dumb tho. He knows pushing college football helps him in Ohio Wisconsin Michigan Florida
Yeah, but folks In those states might blame him for the whole mess to begin with. He has a lot to answer for.

My favorite trope from these discussions..."if they saw the data I HAVE..."

Breh, no one has exclusive data from ProCovidFocus thats behind a paywall. Got that exclusive EDGE on all the latest coronavirus data. Get lost.

So many people virtue signaling on this topic, but they are really just wanting these players to wait until the spring so they can continue their indentured servitude guilt free. Players already showed their cards...they want to play because they feel they can parlay this into some sort of players association and compensation. To that I say, get that money.

Watching Packer & Durham this morning. The AD for UVA is on. They have done 1100 tests on athletes for 7 sports currently on campus since June. Only had 4 positive tests TOTAL.

She said that the communication and interaction between the ACC medical task force, the University Presidents, ADs and coaches has been really phenomenal. She feels they are all on the same page and have all the information they need to make informed decisions.

ACC meeting this morning.

Don't kid yourself if you don't think basketball has a huge part in the attempt to get football going....

Ohio State voted "no."

Now they want to play? Sounds like their AD Gene Smith, as well as the coach and players, and fans and boosters, all want to play. But the liberal lady president doesn't want them to play.

Internal struggle.
See this is how the trouble on this board starts in threads with derailments. Now others are responding in kind. Go back to not poRsting trouble like you have for the past few months.

All conference updates are going into this thread.

listen lauryn hill GIF
Until it gets locked because the political thread derailers are out again.

Nebraska wants to leave the B1G ? Financially speaking not a very bright move. 1st of all the exit fee is 50 million. Then add that the average payout of the BIG 12 per team in 2019 was 38.8 million. The B1G payout was 55 million.
So in review you're initially out 50 million, and then a negative 17 million per year, and you give this up for 1 year of football ?

The Big 10 blew their load too early canceling the season. If you read the comments from the Big 10 university presidents that were made immediately after, it was all about how EVERY conference was going to follow their lead and cancel too. Then they wouldn't have looked so bad in comparison.

But now that every other conference besides the PAC 12 has left them alone at the alter looking like pussies, I'm sure a lot of them are regretting their decision.

If nothing changes, this is going to be a catastrophe for the BIG10 and Pac12. They've basically given themselves the death penalty for a year. That can't be good.
Right! And as I have said, what allows them to come back in the spring or fall of 2021? No established parameters for return.

One of the shows on the XM college football channel was interviewing Karl Darrell today. He starts off saying if SEC and ACC saw the same data he saw they would not be playing. Two minutes later he tells the hosts that Colorado is exploring options to play this fall outside of the pac10. Completely contradicts himself in the interview
Your first mistake was quoting Karl Dorell for anything important like this. What a complete dolt that guy is.

Another factor that may come into play as far as the ACC, SEC and Big 12 in terms of playing....

It seems that the NCAA will be ruling on whether there will be any kind of championship games for ANY fall sport in the next couple of weeks.. It is entirely possible they decide there will be NONE. IF that happens, what do these three conferences do? Continue to play their seasons as planned, just for the sake of playing, and likely under worsening optics given the actions of the Big 10 and PAC 12? I could see the BIG 10 schools pushing the NCAA for exactly this action in order to force the ACC, SEC and Big 12 to cancel their seasons, too.... It is seeming increasing likely the end of the NCAA as we all know it is not far away.....

Well the NCAA doesn't control the FBS national title and they don't control conference tournaments in other sports. So for the ACC, Big 12, SEC and the G5 schools what you're playing for are regular season titles and conference tournament titles if they cancel D1 titles

NCAA has nothing to do with P5 football championships.

Yup big political move by the president. Said earlier that Ohio State and Penn State are both big state schools in key battleground states for the election. Obvious what went on there, the presidents/big wigs made executive decisions.

They’ll still play and an AP National champion will still be crowned as there championship is separate from the coaches which is part of the CFB playoff. So there will be a champ but it’ll be just like the old days determined by voters.
