@NZ Cane @canesfr3sh24 so who do you think shifts in the top 10 besides SEC and BIG championship teamsI think Ole Miss is the wild card that might get shuffled out. Whole staff is gone, right?
This isn’t true…..unless you use gorilla math for your tie-breaker like the ACC chose, a win gets you an auto-bid to the dance. That means something and Miami would take the scenario 10 times out of 10 right now.Conference championship games already don't mean anything.
Neither the ACC nor the SEC had their best two teams in the games. The conferences are too big for the CCG to mean anything.
SMU is in the ACC, though. It doesn't "just mean more," apparently.
Well it means something as far as getting into the playoffs. This isn’t true…..unless you use gorilla math for your tie-breaker like the ACC chose, a win gets you an auto-bid to the dance. That means something and Miami would take the scenario 10 times out of 10 right now.
To turn around and cry about losing in the opportunity or arguing that you shouldn’t be held accountable for losing or getting *****-slapped…..flies in the face of high-level competition and stakes. It’s a nonsensical argument.
Right because playoff rankings aren’t directly in-line with conference structure like they should be. Old events in a new way of doing business……it’s retarded.Well it means something as far as getting into the playoffs.
I'm saying it doesn't actually crown the best team in the conference because 2 of the P4 don't even have their best 2 teams playing in it.
This. DeBoer saying precedent has been set. Yeah, it has. You fall two spots. And that was a 3 point loss. SMU was just ranked higher than you so they didn’t fall out.
He also made the point they were the 1 seed………yeah according to the SEC not the playoff rankings you asshat.This. DeBoer saying precedent has been set. Yeah, it has. You fall two spots. And that was a 3 point loss. SMU was just ranked higher than you so they didn’t fall out.
See, the SEC and BIG have similar tiebreaker rules. The difference? 1-3 loss teams who don’t make it will be bubble teams. Big 12 and ACC teams aren’t going to get that benefit so we shouldn’t have the same tiebreaker rules. It doesn’t matter when or what year, those two conferences will always get the benefit of the AP rankings because of the almightyThis isn’t true…..unless you use gorilla math for your tie-breaker like the ACC chose, a win gets you an auto-bid to the dance. The Big 12 and ACC should prop up their highest ranked teams at all cost while they can. Eventually the two super conference structure will take over and Miami will be a part of it.See, the SEC and BIG have similar tiebreaker rules. As much as I want to believe we’ll be in a “super conference”, I don’t think that’s guaranteed. The SEC/BIG seem content benefiting from this system who favors them. Why change it? Some say we’ll bring revenue and that might be true, but is it enough? If we truly want in, we need to get that ball rolling now if we haven’t already. The ACC will crumble eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later. Some whacky theories of us forming an entirely new conference with some of the other big brands who can’t get in or are unhappy with where theyre at (USC) doesn’t seem so crazy as it once did.The Big 12 and ACC should prop up their highest ranked teams at all cost while they can. Because the SEC/BIG will be the system. It will be an NFL like structure with two conferences, NIL, portal free agency. It’s why the SEC and BIG dominate the playoff percentage now…..just moving toward the future. Miami will be a part of it, they’re too good not to and have the financial backing to keep moving forward. As much as I want to believe we’ll be in a “super conference”, I don’t think that’s guaranteed. Do we really have the backing financially because I just don't see it especially as a private school. We do deserve to be in over ND thoughBecause the SEC/BIG will be the system.
