So does Mario realize he's lost the fanbase?

Fans don't dictate anything.

The days of flying a banner over the stadium for change is over. It takes one key person to stop giving the school money and Mario will be on the clock.
Naa naa. If the regular fans stop showing up, they can give him all they want and they will still have to address it. Our fans base is not huge, especially the game going ones. We are pretty in tuned with the team. We dont just go to go. Most of us anyway. He follows social media dont be fooled. Will he change? Don't know.

Heartbreaking man I wanted to believe. I was drinking the kool aid and defending this dude saying he got better. Man somethings realist and mopes know what they are talking about.

hes not going to change. hes been coaching for over 20 years. this is the way he was brought up coaching wise and this is the way he does it. he got an 80 mill dollar deal doing it this way. he truly believes in the **** he says about execution, hard work, blah, blah. hes a caveman to his core and sometimes it works. **** it probably would have worked pre NIL. with the talent dispersed around the country, the X and O part of coaching is way more important than the recruiter part of it. everyone has talent now. coaching separates them (look at Indiana the last 2 years under cignetti, vandy, USF).

If they finished 10-2 (a BIG if) for all we know they could be in the ACCCG. These teams aren't done cannibalizing each other yet.
Yeah I mean everyone seemed 100% certain GA Tech was a lock for the ACCCG and I’m pretty sure NC State beat them handily although I was too annoyed to watch the game. Now that’s in doubt. They have to play Pitt and if Pitt wins, I want to say that gives us some kind of path to Charlotte assuming we win out. These are big ifs, but there’s a lot of things that could happen over the next 4 games and I’m not really sure why everyone keeps using words like “eliminated” when talking about the CFP considering there’s not really a mathematical way to be eliminated from an at-large bid. Yeah if we drop one more we’re officially done because they won’t take a 3 loss ACC team, but 2 losses? Maybe.

I do think he knows the SMU loss is his worst yet at Miami.

If you worry about what the fans think, you’ll be sitting with them.

He needs to worry about beating Syracuse. As we’ve seen the past 20 years, these November losses come in bunches.
He better figure it out or the $$$ who are fans will figure out who our next coach will be

National media has always had it out for Mario nothing new.

If this ignorant fanbase is out on Mario then I am not sure what to say.

Hopefully he retires at the end of the season, and you all get what you want. The way this fanbase acts it deseves 6-7 win seasons and getting owned by rivals.

He hasn't lost any fans.

He hasn't gained any either.

The devout followers will continue to prostrate at the altar & make every excuse known to man to absolve our patron Saint of his continual shortcomings.

But as the saying goes, there's always next year...
He absolutely has lost fans. You’re completely off here. I know many.

10-2 most likely gets them in, now getting to 10 wins, well
i'm not sure if that's true.. 10-2 kept us out last year.. i know we have 2 better wins this year (ND and USF) and one of our losses is better (although Lou could probably be compared to Syracuse from last year)... but as of now, according to the Playoff Predictor, we have a 27% chance to make the playoffs if we win out and don't make the ACCCG...

only way we get in is at 11-2 and winning the conference. the team is underperforming as the season goes on.

'22 MTSU @ home? (ranked #25)
'22 blown out by FSU at home?
'23 GTech to kneel or not to kneel? (ranked #17)
'24 GTech & a one armed QB? (ranked #4)
'24 Syracuse 21-0 collapse? (ranked #8)

4/5 coming as a Top 25 ranked team to an unranked team, the other is a rivalry game we didnt show up after kickoff.

'25 SMU is another notch on the resume. Could make his Top 5 though (at Miami).

Almost my exact list. I had Louisville up there too since it was at home at least.

I think you’re dreaming…with all due respect.
How many good quarters has Miami played since mid September?
Not many!!!

The offense is mediocre, it’s actually bad for college football.
Turnovers penalties mental mistakes lack of game planning take your pick, they are all not worthy of being in playoffs

We just lost at home to Lou and lost at a totally mediocre SMU team…..what makes you think we can string together 4 IMPRESSIVE wins in a row? We are more likely to drop 2 than to win 4 imo

Don’t think Mario realizes anything. He’s a stubborn robot. Dude can’t even hold a fluent conversation without sounding awkward. I can’t imagine what a pregame speech must be like. I wish he worked on his people skills and actually learned how to motivate and connect with these kids. It’s 2025 and he’s still running the same program on repeat over and over and over again.

little things matter always

I am sure you can also put a similar list like this of his time at Oregon full of blunders, game mismanagement, and simply losing to overmatched teams.

Posters here have called it out since day one, and I seen it with my own eyes, but with everything else he has going for him, I had the slightly tinted glasses on believing all it takes is delegating, and learning from his mistakes. But the trend is to loud to ignore at this point. I wont ever give up on my teams (magic lol), but this feels like the definition of insanity, especially the run game.

And when we took a knee to go into OT, that was the icing on the cake for me. Dumb decision making, clock mismanagement, making no adjustments is one thing, but that decision to kneel is probably the most ***** made things I have seen from one of our coaches.

If we were to lose to Syracuse.. I wouldn’t even know where to start. All of the “program building/culture” will be wiped out immediately and the university has problem on their hands.

I agree.... these two loses disgusted me at this staff in general.... Mario is a mystery on how he wants to come off, compared to how he executes a game.. and I've accepted he won't change.... I appreciate and still think he is a great recruiter and talent builder, but it's not enough nowadays and cost wayyyy too much to squander the talent... so IMO. I think the majority of the fans know who he is at this point...

Now, I try to be a realist when it comes to firing/hiring coaches.... although I'm done with him as our HC, at the same time I don't want the program to go $60+mil in the hole to get rid of him... it's how the UF/FSU's of the world are broke right now.. losing all that money will hit us in the NIL area as well.... so we're f*cked no matter what... I think Dawson is out after this season, so it's another off season of hoping we get some OC that is creative and good, and starting all over again, while keeping the team in tact and finishing class and portal on a really good note...
