NC State is 8-3 and ranked. UAB is in the conference USA championship game. Pittsburgh finished above 500 and UVA finished at 500. Let’s stop acting like we only beat a bunch of 2 win teams.

1) DL: As fans we had some concerns about this group. We weren’t sure about Jalen Phillips who turn out to be good player for us. Salute to manny for getting this transfer done. LBs; we all known that this was going to be an issue from the beginning. Moreover a host of linebackers got their shot to get more reps and show they belonged but we just don’t have that guy. NOW THIS KID FROM USC WHOSE IN THE PORTAL IS A MUST GET HES THAT GUY! Kudos to the staff with doing more with less where this group is concerned by getting 8 wins. I’m impressed

CB: their has been a lack of depth at this position and it got even thinner when Christian Williams left. Tbh our secondary is mediocre at best and have been exposed on many occasions but has been masked by our record. Many people on this fan base want Rump gone but I would have to imagine rump and Ed Reed are friends and either behind closed doors or in meetings discuss what they can do to get the play of the secondary better. And I gotta believe they are taught the best technique to play corner by the aforementioned coaches but obviously it’s always not being excuted and the Cubbard is not that deep to pull from. We need some ballers at corner straight up. Growing up watching the canes I never saw our corners get ran away from.

IN CONCLUSION: We are moving in the right direction. Great job by manny getting this team together and producing 8 out of 10 wins. Blake made the most out of his glaring weakness at LB/CB and put what he and the defensive staff thought were his best options weekend week out also, not having players due to covid. Let’s be real we got smoked yesterday and it was embarrassing moreover it was the second nationally televised game this happened. Listening to fans and pod casters analysts of our tackling and saying we need to change our methods is COMICAL. Last week it was outstanding and yes it was against DOOK but they have scholarship athletes last time I checked ( see their defensive ends) we all get our butts kicked every now and then ( see Michigan Minnesota and Pennstate) So enjoy your slice of humble pie this weekend and see the SILVER LINING in all of this. 8-2 and we’re going to a respectable bowl game and have a good recruiting class coming in. GO CANES!

What happened against UNC is inexcusable. Either Manny cleans house and hands a new DC complete autonomy, or he can gtfo.

There is difference between claiming those wins are accomplishments and pushing back against those minimizing them by claiming they are practically meaningless. Both things can be true at once.

Some of us tried to sound the warnings when we were scraping by scrubs, but we were told a win is a win. I hope this loss wakes the people up who felt that way. Our only two wins this year that made us look good were against our two worst opponents. Everyone else pushed us to the limit, or beat the snot out of us. That is NOT a team moving in the right direction. We are the same team we were last year, with a better O and worse D.

Manny should bite the bullet, fire Baker, and call the defense himself in the bowl game. However, if he doesn't fire Baker within 5 minutes after the bowl game, Blake and Ed (let him earn some of the Chief of Staff money) need to tell him he has to do it or Manny is gone himself.

As much crap as Manny gets on here, they did go 8-2 after he made immediate changes on the offensive side of the ball. Now, he has to do it on the defensive side of the ball.

Blake and Ed need to start scouting coaches out there in case Manny doesn't win at least 9 games next year or allows another blowout like yesterday.

This defense gave up over 700 yards and 554 yards on the ground. There is no positive to take away from this game or this season. if not for King at QB we would be in same place as we were last year, or worse. Manny will be gone in a few years, it’s just a matter of time, he’s a terrible head coach.

Yes unfortunately I did see that game and it was bad really bad. But to say if we are lucky to have king or this season would be worse is a lazy response. What if Ohio state didn’t have fields or or if North Carolina didn’t have Howell.... but they do so. Dabo had his short comings in the beginning so give manny his chance. IMPROVEMENT WAS MADE AND THEIRS NO DENYING THAT! (6-7 8-2) The expectation next season should be to win these games now and get back to that standard that left me in awe as a kid weekend and week out. It could be worse this season we could be Michigan penn state or Minnesota fans right now.

This team's trajectory is not up. Good chance we are back to .500 next year unless we hit portal home runs again. Staff is a question mark, and talent is nor near good enough. Bama is going to blow our doors off. Only thing that could change that is everyone comes back and we have some freshman who can play at that level from go or we hit the portal well again. My guess is most leave and the freshman aren't ready.

Fair enough. We can agree to disagree. You think this program is trending up in the right direction. I don’t believe it is, I think we’re treading water.
This year, We took one step forward on offense and took two steps back on D. This team might be marginally better because of King and the experience he brings, if he leaves we are 6-6 again in Manny’s third year. I think this years 8-2 record is a mirage, we squeaked by some games this year against some lousy teams, just like 2017. We are middle of the road ACC coastal team with zero signature wins and will remain so under Manny’s leadership IMO.

The portal players are bandaids on bullet holes. When ALL of your best players are portal players, you are screwed in the long run.
