i dont think Coach Macho said that bringing in TRob should allow Manny to be more aggressive with our CBs.
well playing off 7 yards is passive. Macho is tired of the same stats caused by passive DB play,
i dont think Coach Macho said that bringing in TRob should allow Manny to be more aggressive with our CBs.
Umm...Because you haven't actually seen anything yet. You saw clips of Spring scrimmages, and a watered down Spring game. That's it. We have no idea what the scheme is going to look like come 9/4. Maybe our defense is mediocre, maybe not. We'll have to see.
Great counter point but the in game defensive performances keep telling the flawed truthFor Manny's style of defense, scrimmages don't play to the defense's advantage. His defense is predicated on getting to the quarterback and hitting him, causing havoc in the backfield. You can't do that in scrimmages, AND they don't blow these plays dead very aggressively in scrimmages when the QB would have otherwise been hit and sacked. Freaking out about scrimmages is just plain dumb. The only thing that matters about scrimmages is that we come out with no injuries. That's it and that's all.
Truthfully we don't even play any formidable offensive opponents.Honestly, there aren't many defensive philosophies doing anything against formidable opponents. However, I would rather be aggressive in coverage and risk getting beat over the top or at least play a much tighter and aggressive zone...
That's what SCOUT TEAM is for...not "good on good" scrimmages.
Good-on-good scrimmages are not scripted.
The defense runs their ****, the offense runs their's.
I guess we will find out once season starts. Wasn't it Singletary who said something like wait until CFP sees the new stuff on D Miami is rolling out? We will be able to tell relatively quickly.I agree with Macho. Bringing in TROB should allow Manny to be more aggressive with our CBs. Not only did we bring in TROb but we also brought in TS at CB. Now if it is still a talent issue, what happens in 2022 when we land a bunch of 4 and 5 star kids? Will they be allowed to run press man?
Truthfully we don't even play any formidable offensive opponents.
The same Louisville team that anally raped our defense got their **** pushed in by Pitt the following week.
Hey watch the Tannehill slander haha. Dude was a solid QB at Miami in a bad situation, goes to Tennessee, and has been one of the better QBs in the league the past few seasons. Not disagreeing with your argument of our defense having gaping zones in it for pickings, but to this particular comment:
At one point in 2015, Ryan Tannehill's stat line vs the Texans was 18/18 for 282 yards and 4 touchdowns lol. This is also with him getting sacked 4 times
Those kids need to play!So.....any updates? Lashlee seems to really like the freshmen receivers and said he's going to run them against the #1 defense to see if they're ready to contribute right away this year. I thought that was very encouraging.
Stop with that excuse. Their QB, RB and Tutu Atwell had big days.Louisville had a whopping 6 points at halftime and we emptied the bench when it got out of hand.
THIRTY different guys had tackles in that game, including walk ons
He's definitely the type who plays faster than he tests. I saw these times very pedestrian 40 times and I couldn't believe it. He was always the fastest guy on the field when they were in pads. He had big games against St. Thomas and Miramar so it's not like he was just lighting up the bad teams either.Man! Yeah I remember hearing how smooth he looked before I even saw footage of him. Some ppl was even calling him "slow" but it's really he's just hella precise with his steps lol. Slow or not, dude finds a way to get open and CATCHES the ball. Prefect scenario would be that we don't have to rush these young fellas on the field as much so they can develop their bodies more buuuut yeah, the way our WR room is set up, we NEED them lol
We lostSo we had a scrimmage recently. How did it go?
Scrimmages always benefit the offense, that’s nothing new. QB has more time in the pocket knowing he will not get touched.
Not to mention youre talking about how we give up everything underneath, but every WR who had publicly released stats from the scrimmage had at least 15 yards per catch.
It’s also okay to recognize that we do indeed have a better QB room than most teams we will play.
It’s not an excuse it’s a fact. We were up three touchdowns midway through the 4th quarter (40-20) and scoring at will. We emptied the bench. It wasn’t raping it was a chance to get young guys and walk ons in.Stop with that excuse. Their QB, RB and Tutu Atwell had big days.
There's two halves in a game bro. You don't get to throw out the second half.
Yeah I saw where you bolded & responded. Wasn't attacking you. More to the others on your point. These aren't world beaters & it's not just happening once. I think we are on the same page here. Mope City Represent! Please read the sentence right before the one you quoted where I literally said "i don't disagree". I only posted it because Macho said he didn't think it was possible (That type of stat line). I also don't think Macho is overreacting because it's not fun watching gaping holes in our defense constantly through spring, fall, and the actual season. Regardless, its still a huge anomaly for Ryan Tannehill to have gone 18/18 in a NFL game, and against a top 5 defense at the time.
I’m agreeing with you. That’s just how it almost seems to be at this point. That's what SCOUT TEAM is for...not "good on good" scrimmages.
