SIAP - Pfenninger

Before I met @apfenny3 , I saw him make scholarship DBs look silly on Greentree with my own eyes. I asked Pete who #35 was and he told me he was a CIS member.

Drake is blowing it.

"Just as certain as death Westinghouse will kill a customer within six months after he puts in a system of any size, He has got a new thing and it will require a great deal of experimenting to get it working practically."
- Thomas Edison, deriding AC power systems. These systems are the standard now, not Edison's DC system which failed.

"It is apparent to me that the possibilities of the aeroplane, which two or three years ago were thought to hold the solution to the [flying machine] problem, have been exhausted, and that we must turn elsewhere."
— Thomas Edison. Yeah, he doubled down on stupid (The Wright Flyer flew eight years later).

Sometimes a person may be perceived as brilliant, but in actuality can be blinded by their own ignorance. Drake's Coaches Fox and Pole are Edisons...

couldn't have said it better myself

I would just tell you to grind it everyday. Block out any noise and leave any negative thoughts in your room, car, or locker room. Give 110% and let the chips fall where they may. No matter how things turn out you will be able to look back and say, I didn't quit, I gave it all, & the coaches didn't get the better of me! I speak from experience in a somewhat similar situation. My Sophomore year of HS I transferred from Broward county to a HS in Western NC. The coach hated transplants from FL. My JR year I had the talent to start but was 3rd string TE. The coach ignored me but I kept my head down and blocked out the noise. 5th game of the year the 1st string TE was out, it was very late in the game with a 4th & 10. Coach called a TE seem. Well the 2nd team TE got cramps and the coach had no choice but to signal me in and no time to change the play. The corner played the run and the safety rotated away from me.....I caught the ball in stride a ran 60+ yards for the winning TD. The coach was mad as **** (HA!) I still didn't get to play much but it didn't matter that one play made the whole year worthwhile and I had the satisfaction of not giving up. If you're physically not able continue that's one thing but if it's mental keep your head down and the noise out!!! GL!

Drake leads the series against us, 2-1. We won the last game, in 1939.

I'm ****ed at them for not giving us the chance to even up the series. Why won't they play us?

It's not like they have a great passing attack. I think their QB was something like 12 of 40 in their last game against Dayton.

**** Drake.

Have a bye week and I will be in Miami this weekend. Planning on attending the game, hopefully the weather isn't too bad. On another note, I just got my 3rd diagnosed concussion last night, I've likely had a few others that I brushed off or were close. My parents talked to me a little about it today but likely going to have a more in depth conversation later this weekend on whether they want me to hang up the cleats or not.

There is so much in life than football son. Get involved in some other sport if you must but stay away from head trauma.

apfenny3 I feel for U. As a former walk on, I understand and appreciate playing for the love of the game. U go out there and do whatever U can to get noticed so that just maybe U get some burn on ST. I tell kids all the time, play the game until injury takes it away from U or nobody wants U anymore. Head injuries are no joke my man. Prayers with U and enjoy your time at home this weekend!

**** that, dude. As someone who's had one significant concussion from a freak thing playing baseball, one minor thing in an accident on a boat ramp and a few of those 'bell rung' moments in football, it still makes me a cringe a little when I read all the brain stuff coming out now. Best wishes and energy your way on whatever you decide.

You've proved your point in football life-- you got the heart of a lion and tough as ****-- now it's time to think about life after football. We are only scratching the surface of understanding the brain, don't fool around with this stuff.

A few months ago I received a postcard from class action lawyers against the NCAA. Outside of joining this site I can’t think of any signs of CTE...but...I was scared.

Hopefully your health isn’t impacted in any way. I just joined the forum but I’ve always creeped and kept up with your threads. Your story is awesome! Hopefully this experience somehow helps you in the future dealing with clients in bad spots. Maybe you could get the story on some sort of bigger platform. I think a lot of guys could relate and possibly help you with business in the future. Good luck bud!

Austin, best of luck in your decision; I'm heartened by your parent' interest in your well being (sorry, you expect it, I'm sure...Some young people are not as fortunate).

Butch Jones' is not the only one who knows a Life Champion when they see one!

Third diagnosed? I wouldn’t take it lightly.

They've always been very supportive of whatever I've done, very lucky to have them

2 in high school then this one. There were a few hits at Miami that I think I probably had one but wasn't quite sure it was bad enough to report/being dumb
