Gators @ 8??! Yeah, I gotta f’ing problem w/ that. Yes, they won the wack SEC East, and I know they lost a barn burner against Bama in the SEC title game; BUT, they lost 4 games on the season & got absolutely murdered by OU in their NY6 matchup. Plus they are losing their top QB & top O-weapon in Trask & Pitts respectively. I’m not seeing them as a top 10 team, and that’s putting my sincere hatred for them aside.

Plus they lost Toney and Emory Jones is their QB. I think their defense is suspect as well. They might as well put Nayquan Wright, Lingard and Bowman in a wishbone with Emory Jones and try that. lol
 
I actually like the fact that the gaytors and unc are starting so high. Will make it so much more glorious when they fall. Because trust me, there's a great chance uf finishes the season unranked. And unc definitely won't be a top ten team.

Not really, just makes it that much worse that we got stomped at home by a team that just said "hike" handed off the ball and just got 10 yards a pop. This they lost to someone else is dumb given they kicked our ***......

UFag is in trouble and any Gayturd fan that doesn't see it is in denial. It's going to be fun watching that Predator Mullen run for the hills after this season.
 
I hate pre season polls. The SEC with 8 ranked teams helps the narrative that they are so good when they beat each other and play no one OOC.
I'm not a conference rah rah guy but the ACC better start out 5-0 vs them.

Also would love it if the gaytors start 0-2 vs FAU and USF.

17 is low for a preseason poll, IMO. These polls are largely based off returning production, which we have plenty of... including a heisman contender at QB.

I didn’t look at the list yet and I’m waiting for the post-spring magazines to come out to see what other squads look like, but I would’ve guessed in 11-14 range.
 
17 is about right. i dont have faith in that bama game so w.e. ranking we are come fall will take a tumble anyways after the CFA game.

This is the biggest problem with pre season polls IMO. They over rank a bunch of teams to start the season. Those teams then pad their early season record with non conference punching bags, thus rising in the rankings. Once the conference schedule finally kicks in, they start losing games but they’ll never drop that far in the polls because teams never go from top 10 to unranked after one or two losses. Then the teams that beat them get to claim victories over ranked opponents, thus making their schedule look even better. Mississippi State did this sort of thing for the better part of a decade. There shouldn’t be any polls at all until at least week 4 or 5.
