If Richt had won a championship or two at UGA, he would have been there another 10+ years and retired.
Sounds like Richt was a push over and lost control.
By the time that game gets played, neither Richt ir Pruitt will be at their respective jobs.Schedule me those ******* ***** in Tennessee.
I'm not taking about Richt ability to actually coach. I'm talking about being in the game for 15 years and handling a situation like that so poorly.
The excuses y'all making for Richt. My goodness. I'm going to call it was it is. Reading that was disturbing how a HC who had been there for 15 years let a newly hired DC take full control of his program with little resistance in front of his employers, other coaches, and players to the point it was clear to everyone involved.
Your the HC. You check everyone's attitude and ego at the door coach and player. Point Blank Period. Y'all can miss me with the excuses of what the admin did or did not do. What I read was a HC kneeling to a employee. That has nothing to do with the UGA admin. Richt is the boss he is suppose to check dude at the door or handle that situation when it present itself ESPECIALLY when it in front of your players. You can't be a softie and risk losing the respect of your players.. you just can't. It also show how dysfunctional your staff is and player won't trust them.
Also the hires seem to be flat out terrible. The most concerning hire is that he hired a S&C coach that appeared to not have any clue what he was doing. I also found it interesting how Richt let Manny hire people similar to how he let Pruitt hire people. If Manny had Pruitt's balls I wonder if Manny could do the same thing Pruitt did.
No one can read that and not be concerned. NO ONE.
Interesting read.
This part especially:
“That should have never happened,” one starter said about the incident. “Pruitt was wrong about that. That was wrong. You don’t talk to another man like that. Not your head coach.”
Pruitt later reiterated in a press conference the fall of 2015 that Richt was in charge.
“We lost some respect for Coach Richt in that moment,” a player said of the spring 2015 practice. “Right then it should have been handled.”

I really nd truly hope Richt learned from that. Its one thing to turn the other cheek but what he did that day lost him his team.
Hopefully the 305 is surely bringing that goon out of him.

I agree to a point.....Look...I love CMR....and I'm aware of the quality person he is....But in my opinion he should've nipped that in the *** immediately.....I personally watched Butch get all in Bill Millers *** more than once (ended up firing him after 98 season, even though they were close friends) and I saw Butch tear into Monkey Boy Shiano's *** as well....Shiano was a poor mans Pruitt....@Brooklyndee will vouch that Butch wouldn't of put up with the likes of Pruitt pulling punk crap like that....I'm wondering if Pruitt had little or no respect for Offensive minds...(Richt...Fisher etc....) Where Butchs entire Backround was defense. Either way, Pruitt seems to like to undermine Authority.....nah...
Richt got rooted in Athens and--for the sake of his family & assistants--let UGAs administration/boosters get involved in running the football team.
Pruitt calls a presser to chop down the administration about an IPF and the admin responds by giving the man an extension and raise; what more do you need to understand about what happened? Pruitt felt like he had his mandate and opportunity to flex & do WTF he wanted based on the circumstances of his hire and extension. MARK RICHT WAS NOT HIS BOSS and it was clear Pruitt was operating with that understanding. If you want to question how Richt could let the administration run the team then it's another conversation, but why--with all the understanding he had about the circumstances--should Mark Richt embarrass himself & validate Pruitt by stooping to that level after 15yrs as HC at the joint?
Pruitt should have been gone that day, but it clearly wasn't Richt's call.

It's not that I don't understand....it's that the SECOND Richt realized his say meant nothing...he should've stepped....Shame on the Powers above at UG to have ever let this happen to begin with....Man Won 150 games in the $EC in 15yrs...and this is how you treat him??....What don't you understand about Richt not hiring Pruitt and not being his boss?

I guess there's nothing that could've been done...but what a terrible way UGs Powers handled the entire situation....nah...
