Man we can only hope. People probably think I'm dogging Richt, but, come on, that article described something you would think happened on the Cleveland Browns organization not at a program with a HC who had been 'in charge' for 15 years. I'd think nothing of it if this happened in Richt earlier days since it was his first HCing job but for this to happen in your last year there after a 15 year stint. That's concerning.
Lets say Manny leaves whether he is fired or take a new job then Richt hires someone with Pruitt's similar personally and begins to act out, then what? Are we suppose to become dysfunctional program because the HC can't put his DC in his place? I really do hope Richt understand that he has to make sure people know that he is the boss. Letting people get out of line or talk down to you when your their boss often will lead to problems down the road.
I think the answer to your question is in your hypothetical... he would not hire someone with a personality similar to Pruitt, which is why he didn't hire Pruitt. That is why he asked for complete control at Miami.
