But to answer your question, that's easy, and i said it last year, them heritage boys saw the depth chart, wasnt gone be to much room for starting over here, of course they were going to get playing time but during the year we had #28, young and bandy, we was already good over here at that time, and better this year. So just like them, the guys that came in with us this year as freshmen wasnt gone get to much burn either, but we'll see them as sophmores now, vs him! I cant recall seeing nobody catch a pass on ivey yet!

Surtain had the better year and it is not even close. If you watched both teams play anyone would much prefer to have freshman Bandy covering them instead of Surtain. If you want to look at actual stats Bandy had 25 tackles and 1.5 TFL with 6 PBU and 1 int. Surtain had 33 tackles and 1.5tfl. 1 int. 6 pbu. 1 forced fumble and 1 QB hurry. He did this against MUCH better competition.

So you didn't answer the question. If 5 stars are not as good as 3 and 4 stars than why is Surtain performing better than all of our 3 and 4 stars?

LoL, according to what you just posted, basically the same stats, how is it not even close only 8 tackles more both had 1.5tfl, both had 6pbu's, both had 1 pick, but bandy's was a pick 6 on the big stage, but to stake the claim somehow that surtain did it against much better competition is misleading!

You are the one making that claim, not me, the question is, would surtain had been a starter here, cause none of our guys were going to start over #28 or bandy, and neither was surtain. Going to Bama put surtain in a better position to start!

No it is not misleading. Surtain had BETTER stats and EVEN if they where exactly the same doing it against LSU, UGA, Auburn, etc are a lot more impressive than doing it against UNC and Duke. Just look at Bandy as a sophomore against LSU compared to freshman surtain going against the same LSU team. Surtain is way better.

No you are the one claiming that 5 stars are overated the the recrutiing services don't know wtf they are talking about, but then we have 5 stars that are head and shoulders better than our 3 and 4 stars.
 
If we pull Tyrique and match him up with this secondary. **** that’s gonna be scary

Bandy As a freshman played didn’t just play them and unc Miami went against;
#13 va tech
#3 notre dame
#6 Wisconsin
#5 Clemson
FSU
As a freshman
Which is better competition than what surtain just faced in uga,Auburn, LSU, ole miss(receivers) tbh.
Both had very solid freshman years . And can’t compare what surtain did vs LSU because bandy played 1 series before he was kicked out that game

Why? He earned reps as a true freshman. People down played him since he was here...kid earned reps as a freshman and was on ALLL specials. People were down from the recruitment and doubled down on it from he came here and are now saying "developement". He was a 6'2 180 plus athletic kid from he came in.

Had offers from miami, Clemson and LSU too and was highlighted as the best db at the bama all star game as well in highschool

Your rankings are very deceiving. None of those schools finished ranked like that.
He went against
24 va tech
11 Notre Dame
7 wisconsin
4 Clemson.

Notre Dame had a QB That couldn't pass. Wisconsins QB was known as the interception machine and he shredded our secondary. Kelly Bryant sucks at throwing and he also shredded the secondary.

This year isn't over yet, but Bamas competition is going to be ranked a lot higher. You are right Bandy vs LSU was a bad example because he got kicked early, but surtain did work against LSU and all the rest of our DBs got exposed against them.
