Shaq Quarterman- Bama comin

He and his pops/uncle frequent the website without question. There has been absolutely zero that has happened in the last few months on the field to influence this. The kid and fam are die hard Canes fans. With nothing else to pay attention to during the off season, Internet perusal and workouts dominate the itinerary for many kids. With the garbage many of you idiots have been spewing towards kids , telling them not to come, "spare your kids the agony", etc., I wouldn't be surprised if one of the best linebackers in the country and most die hard fans did explore other avenues. Keep up the good work idiots. This class has playmakers across the board. Regardless of the coaching situation, we need studs like Shaq, Zach, and Mike. We need you Shaq! The morons are the minority!

:neonu:

Or maybe just maybe people arent selfish like you & want kids to oh idk succeed? which we all know without question they will not do at Miami. Go Shaq Go get yourself a ring with coach Saban. Dont let all Golden waste your talents & kill your draft stalk.

Idiots, sick of this **** board.... Mods need to clean this place up...

I said this before when McCloud went on that visit to AUB with his parents. My theory about this whole thing is that these kids are doing the smart thing by lining up back-up plans in case we bomb this year and Golden gets canned along with his entire staff. Its the smart play. **** even 90% of the fans out there are not expecting us to be any good this year.

I do not doubt their love for the U. Shaq and Zach. Even ARichards as well. And I do not doubt that they want to be here. But there is no use in pretending like there isn't a good chance that Golden gets fired if we don't win 9-10 games and/or the Coastal division.

I would love to hear if UKnowWhat agrees with my theory.

This right here, the most common sense thing said here
I agree... and to boot 7 or 8 of these kids are on track to graduate in DECEMBER just a few months away. If the staff is replaced after the season...when do you announce your new coach??? Do kids commit then wait to see who the new coach will be... again 7 or 8 a large percentage of 2016 will EE

Smart play. And to be frank, im sure you will know by the end of Oct whether your kid will be wearing O&G or Crimson because if Al loses to NEB/FSU/VTech/Clem back to back to back to back he wont last the season.

All I hope is that they fire him before Nov and get a new coach lined up as one poster said and not wait until after the season. That would be the worst case scenario for this program. It would set us back another 2-3 years. Smh.

(Obviously, the best case scenario is that we run the table or win 10-11 games and then we will all look back on these emails this time next year and laugh.)
I like the way you think...

The University of Miami is so much bigger than Al Golden. I would hope most of these kids, if not all, are committing to the university, and not Golden. Certainly, they saw us play last year and the results, so hopefully, they are committed to the love for the University of Miami, and not Al Golden.
I agree...BUT...there is always a but ...do you think it would be wise for a kid to commit to Miami and not know who will be his HC?

Bama started really flirting with Shaq back in May... They invited him out (still scheduling), and he talked with Saban this summer. I'm not a huge Bama fan but I have to admit I even got excited when Shaq was talking with him. Bama-Saban they are near the very top of the college football totem pole so if you are not flattered when they ring, your detached from the game. I have had my share of surprises during Shaq's recruitment, but I would be extremely surprised to see him anywhere other than Miami, but this is his decision... this will effect the rest of his life not mine so I can't do nothing more than give my best advise. Early in his recruitment they had that bug in his ear that he is an SEC Linebacker... everywhere we went... He and I are Cane Fans but this is a life decision to be made with our heads not heart... But once he go down there with Darrion and started assimilating with the other team members... Miami became home... His high school girlfriend moved over the summer...about 10 miles from the University of Miami campus... I see that as a sign... his stars aligning. Flattered by Bama... Yes Flattered by talking with Saban... Yes Flipping from Miami... I would be shocked....

Oh and for the record, the fact that this statement needed to be included in here should scare the living **** out of all canes fans.
Not neccesarily... some head choices for Miami...though not to many right now...1. Shaq wants to be an RN...Miami medical enough said
2. Shaq likes Miami .. its a city he would like to live in or around ... alum from UM will not be hard pressed to find a job.
3. If he is blessed enough to make it to the league UM is a NFL pipeline...how many other teams put more players in the league than they had wins

Though not many but there are some significant head choices that favor Miami

Hey man if you think its idiotic to speak the complete 100% truth then great. Stop lying to yourselves. This program is no just is disarray now, it is also set back for years to come. Why would you wanna see kids with such potential come here to be played in an idiotic scheme/out of position/futures being thrown to the wind because Al Golden doesnt wanna change? Im a realist & want wants best for these young men. Al Golden's 5th place in the coastal canes or Nick Saban's perennial national title contending Tide?

Thanks for talking me off the ledge poppa shaq.

I do really wonder how many kids would stick long enough to see who the next coach will be and who that coach would keep on board if Golden was fired late October/early November.

I think/hope that if chud were hired and he kept beard, kehoe, and hurlie, then a lot of these guys would stick. Who knows if Allison would stick if coley wasn't kept, but so far he's been all Miami. And keeping Allison would be the best way to keep Bruce and the rest of the receivers.

I Think if we can keep Allison, homer, bruce, Richards, Shaq, mccloud, and Byrd we will be good. But I also think the gulliver kids will stick no matter what, Especially Mullins.
The most important coach to keep is easily Beard and Hurlie, if those two stay I think we'd keep a lot of our guys regardless who the HC is.

The simple answer is no, but Shaq is an elite recruit - meaning he could play almost anywhere in the country. My guess is that because he is elite he will be among the very first baby Canes that the new coach will call, and the new coach might play a more aggressive attacking style of defense that would really allow Shaq - and the rest of our defense - to truly showcase their talent. That's my hope anyway.

The University of Miami is so much bigger than Al Golden. I would hope most of these kids, if not all, are committing to the university, and not Golden. I have a CS subscription. Headline is misleading IMO, nothing in there really scares me one bit. All he says is that Miami and Bama are the only schools he is even considering still and that he hasn't shut down his recruitment yet. Based of of that article there is no reason to worry right now.

So you have an allegedly "committed" player telling the world he's still considering Alabama and that he hasn't shut down his recruiting yet. Combine that with Golden's stellar history of hanging onto commitments, and you're not concerned? LULZ.
You have his father posting on the board and is pro Miami telling us he can't wait to sign and you keep trying to spin. Man quit with your bullish*t...

Keep being a gullible dope, and you'll retain your lowly position in life's hierarchy.

His dad has equivocated several times on here. His tone has always been that he's a UM fan but that he's going to leave it up to Shaq. He also said the decision needs to be made with head not his heart. Combine that with Folden's sorry *** history of losing commits, his certainty of tanking this season, and Bama's magic touch with swaying top recruits, and you're feeling all giddy? Dumb.

Refreshing POV here concerning your sons future. If only more of these kids parents would approach it the same way, they would be much better prepared for life, not just football.

His old man has been on this sight dozens of times sniffing The U. If he has any loyalty whatsoever, the young pup doesn't look at anyone else!

Or you be a dad and do what's best for your kid. Shaq is mature enough to make his own decision and loves Miami, but if the best decision is Alabama, Auburn, etc then you support it. I think the kid has what it takes to be a mainstay in the NFL and play at a high level there regardless of where he goes to school. I would say Miami is the best place for him.

It's like working, if you don't like what you do its going to suck regardless of the pay vice versa.

Miami is the low paying job that he enjoys doing, Alabama is the high paying job (literally) that you don't like to do.

Honestly, I would never want to go to Bama as a player. I feel they wear the kids out, and they have to sit in line forever.
If I were a top player, my top schools would be USC, UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Michigan, Texas, Miami....And If I wasn't a Miami fan, I'd list ND and UF too.

All these schools consistently put players in the NFL, and even if you don't make it, a degree from these colleges are very nice to have.

Absolutely not, that would be like playing Russian Roulette with your future. That is why I wholeheartedly agree with jassid that if Golden starts showing the same results as last year, cut bait, he will have proven without a doubt, that he cannot get this football team to the promised land. Hire a great coach to replace him to keep the kids that are committed and pique the interest of some of the elite, like Shaquille, and get this program headed to where it needs to be. Again, like said before, if you wait till the end of the season, go 6-6, this class will fall apart, and it will set the program back 3 extra years. It's all on Blake James and the administration if they want this football team to dominate again, which it most certainly can, with the proper staff in place. The proper staff can keep the Alabamas and the fsu's and the Ohio States out of SFL with a winning program. Some kids will always go, but the elite will stay home and show out.
