Shannon Sharpe on 2001 Canes

Mannnn Stop it.....Santana was a better receiver than Andre at UM....Go look at the Stats...so was Wayne....
Look...Santana and Wayne got those stats playing 4 seasons...Johnson stats were in only 2 seasons...and AJ had more TDs...Santana separates due to his return game.
Also...Andre was 3rd overall pick in NFL Draft....not many Wrs go top 3 overall.

The best is The Playmaker...all heart..thats my guy

Wayne had 21 TDs....Andre 20 TDs....Moss had 19 TDs....And that's with Tana and Wayne playing on the field at the same time....Dre sat behind Tana and Wayne until they left.....

You're incorrect..Reggie Wayne had 20 not 21 tds....Dre had same in 2 years.
Yes Dre played minimal behind Tana and Wayne as they were Seniors...and he was a Freshman.
Just like Sean Taylor and Kellen Winslow did as Freshman...

Skip is a professional contrarian. They’re a dime a dozen nowadays. Whether in politics, sports, or whatever field you want, there are people who have their entire personality based on being a contrarian.

Do you not understand that Wayne and Tana played on the field at the same time??
And STILL did what they did??...Dre played wayyyyy less than "Minimal" when Wayne and Tana were there.....Wayne is easily the Best possession receiver in UM History...and easily the best hands....Andre not only played behind Tana and Wayne...he played behind Andre King and Darryl Jones in 2000 as well...I know what I'm talking about...Trust me...

As a True Freshman..and they were seniors...come on bro

Nice try...you saw the team we had when they were freshman...
Look at what Dre did in 2 years...and they needed 4....
Again...Tana and Wayne shined as Freshman...and didn't have Dorsey throwing to them...Dre was invisible against Ohio St in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl....had 54yds and No T.Ds....Parrish had a bigger game....

Shined as Freshman on a bad team...who cares...just bc you don't play or shine as a freshman doesn't mean that much...Sean Taylor didn't see burn his Freshman season..only in ST....
Dre was double teamed and led to Kellen having one of the greatest games in TE history....

And then Dre was # overall NFL pick...

Sean played enough in Nickle Situations...not only Special teams. Shined as Freshman on a Bad team is even more amazing. Dre being double teamed by DBs, had nothing to do with Ohio Sts slow *** LBers trying to cover Winslow...

Yeah and Dre played in 11 games as a Freshman also doing KO returns and playing WR.
Dominating 2 seasons when everyone is double teaming you is impressive.
There have been only 4 WRs drafted higher than Dre in NFL history...and 2 were the#1 overall pick

Go check out Eddie Browns yr in 1984...I'll put that up against any UM WRs yr ever....I give no Fs about the draft...meaningless in ref to what we're talking about. Irvin Destroyed the #1 Pass Defense in America (OU) as a frosh in 85....he wasn't 5th on the depth chart...and please don't get me started on what Santana did as a WR AND KO returner and PR.....Santana is the Greatest All Around Offensive Weapon in UM History.....

Eddie Brown all time....
However.....almost all the greats played minimal in Freshman year...especially on great teams...and the 1997 Canes were a losing team...so starting as. Freshman on that team was more a necessity for the team.
Here is the thing...Playmaker and Dre didn't need a Senior season...they were 1st round picks after junior seasons....and to say draft is meaningless is way off...
How do you think they got drafted? Game film and production...
Do you think a team is going to draft a WR #3 overall after a junior season for nothing? That is where Qbs are selected..not Wrs
