do you believe they will actually see the field? And if so, will they be used properly? If you do, you are a better fan than I am. There was plenty of opportunity lasst night to just make a few tweaks. Didn't happenwe'll get it right. gonna be a fun ride.
there's enough pieces (Lofton, Jojo, Lyle still to get involved) and a mature QB with an arm.
more wrinkles out of the offense will come
Francis Mauigoa is graded as a top 10 pick and we still NEVER run off tackle. Let that sink in.
It hasn't been one game...Benching the center for some poor play in one game is really, really stupid.
Let’s say Dawson isn’t what we thought he’d be.but notice - he USED one jet sweep to malachi that went for a TDShannon Dawson is root cause for the inept vanilla offense. Last year Cam Ward, was other worldly and made him look good. Otherwise he is mid mid mid.
Every time I criticize this guy I get fans on here coming at my neck. Yet, film doesn't lie.
Any team who plays DBs play very physical and they run 2 high safeties with alternate coverages from presnap to post snap put Dawson in a bind. He forces vertical routes into the strength of the defense instead of taking the underneath and short routes.
We could have WR screen, Tight End boot, and ran Florida off the **** field. Especially in less than favorable conditions for vertical passing. Yet, this man CONTINUES TO run intermediate to deep route concepts.
It is very hard for a QB to make it through 2 reads, let alone 3 and make an accurate check down. Most QBs in all of football just cant do that **** and let's be honest, NO ONE wants to get hit while standing back there so mechanics disappear.
Dawson should have helped his QB by making the first read in his calls a shorter route to his best route runner.
All Florida did was employ the strategy Georgia Tech uses. Notice a pattern? No matter the QB they struggle and the offense stagnates.
When teams use this strategy we have to use the TEs, backs, and attack the flats and keep the ******* chains moving.
How long is thirteen days in Beck's head?Beck missed a lot of dudes open. Unlike games 1-3, he left a lot out there and made the wrong read multiple times. Not concerned though, this will get fixed up in 13 days.
Dawson, where is this page of the playbook?
Are our OL sans Cici athletic to pull and lead block on counters and toss plays like my Birds and how Stoutland coaches his guys? Or is Mario/Mirabal that dumb and oblivious to the fact that you can actually have your OL pull?I don't necessarily agree with that. The Philadelphia Eagles don't just run inside zone and they have had one of the biggest OL in the league the last few years.
You can still incorporate other run concepts with out being a true outside zone scheme. It just seems Mario/Mirabal like OL wall scheme and hope a hole pops. It does work well at times, especially when this big OL can lean on a team for 4 quarters....but if you overdo it, the D can pinch and make spacing difficult. Keeping them honest by challenging the edges with RB and something like a Malachi sweep could go a long way to keep the edge guys and backers honest.
Every replacement has been an upgrade.Let’s say Dawson isn’t what we thought he’d be.
Do you trust Mario to get it right a third time? How many OC’s do we cast aside before tackling the root issue? Genuinely asking, just because I see a lot of people directly blaming Dawson and while he deserves his fair share of heat, I don’t think it’s quite that simple
I’m comin with uCount me a mope now. Fly the banner. “ FIRE DAWSON!” To the jerk off who mentioned him as a head coach, **** YOU!
Go Canes!
