Just to be fair, that was in no way "one of the most talented defenses in college football". That said, they were good enough for that to be an embarrassment.

I have to say that people are doing an awesome job of picking one or two games and judging an entire career on it/them. EVERY coach either has bad losses or hasn't played enough games to have a proven record.

How many of randys recruits are playing in the NFL? Say what you want but Randy can coach and eye talent. He shut down too many good offenses for this disrespect. Got dudes bringing up the OSU GAME WITH PRYOR. We dropped four picks that game. Game plan was excellent. Jacory threw four picks and the d still kept it respectable. Yall going too far.. Randy still got it.

im not talking about shannons time as head coach, im talking his time as d coordinator

in the national championship

vs a one dimensional offense

with sean taylor, antrel rolle, vilma, dj williams, wilfork among a sh*tload of others on your team

Both of their tds in regulation were from our own 30 yard line after turnovers. We stopped them on another turnover from inside our own territory. Their two tds in overtime we're also on a short field and after the infamous penalty which affected them. You saw it on The U Part 2

Radio without question. Randy actually learned from his mistakes against Georgis Tech. He got shredded the first time against them but learned the second time to stop them. Onofrio considers giving up 300 yards to them a good day. Randy's defenses kept us in a lot of games when we had a weak offense during Coker reign and while Nix was the coordinator.

In all fairness 14 of the 31 was scored in overtime where you have a short field.

WTF are you talking about? Ohio State had two scoring drives in regulation. The first started from the Miami 17 and the second from the Miami 14. Yes, Krenzel was able to run the ball because we played a lot of man under. Ohio State had around 265 yards of total offense. If Miami doesn't get screwed in the first overtime, they win 24-17. Once Porter ripped the win away from kids they lost their intensity.
 
UM's Fred Sanford fans still scouring those garbage heaps in front of peoples' houses on bulk trash day for more coaches. Another coach not good enough for the position according to the rest of college football, but UM fan is all about that reclamation project. Trash to treasure.

For better or worse, the HC picks the assistants. We tired forcing assistants on a new HC once -- see JJ's first year for the results. Butch will pick his own.

When he just has to focus on being d coordinator and not also being head coach look what he did. He had some of the top defenses in the nation. If you want to use the talent excuse then you should be using the same excuse for butch davis
