Shamar " Marty" Brown

Ehhh I see more Baby J James #5 from him if we’re sticking to former canes

Upright but runs hard and isn’t an easy tackle and challenges you to bring him down. Not a burner but he gets down hill

Mike James is a better comp.

Strong, can move, can catch, .... just can do it all. That's who I think he most resembles.

Our best third down back, and our best short yardage back. That said, if Lyle is healthy, he will have competition to keeping his job as the third back. He should not be prioritized over Pringle.

Probably will lose carries as he is closest to Fletcher vs other backs in the room. Still would be curious to see how many short yardage carries Brown had. Memory may be fading, but seemed like had a fair number.

Marty catches everything ..I mean everything
Great blocker too
Huge he stayed
I could be wrong, but I can't recall a single pass to him out of the backfield where he was led perfect in stride. Everything was behind him, over his head, low to the ground, etc....Brown had to make some ridiculous adjustments just to even make the catch. The fact he was able to keep his balance after the catch and have some great RAC was pretty amazing.

Fletch will obviously get the most carries. Marty is the #2. Then you have to get Pringle invovled. And Lyle, who might have the most potential, is back. No idea how everyone will get carries sans injuries.

I think #2 is absolutely wide open. This is probably the position battle I'm most excited for on offense
