North Dakota St is a beast of a program. They would beat a lot of FBS teams. I'm not surprised at all this kid came in and just ground out yards against ND.
No homo. I'm talking sybians
Rewatching the game really emphasized the old adage, it's a game of inches. Crazy how a handful of plays for each team made such a difference, but by mere inches.
I'd say all are a step below Damien Martinez - but that's ok.I suspect the same. He's certainly a solid RB, but I think many here are extrapolating from that one really long one he had last year.
I don't think we have anyone close to an "elite" RB in the Edge/Portis/Gore/McGahee category. Probably not even the Lamar Miller range. But they are all pretty solid.
He's got Bethune and USF coming up, so Lyle should feast as our starting can crusher.Have to admit - I wasn't thrilled to see Lyle get the start.
In games decided by under 28 pts - Lyle is now 29 for 81 - 2.8 ypc.
I just don't think Lyle is the dynamic RB he's being billed as. I wouldn't call Brown dynamic either (I don't think any of our top 3 are) - but Brown's a no-nonsense straight ahead hammer. I'm happy we got him.
this is correct.I know we like that split flow run but the TE were struggling blocking the edge on that Lofton whiffed early on a few of those.. Some of those runs were blocked up good and still ended up with tackle at line of scrimmage because we couldnt seal off that DE.
I loved this get from day one for that very reason.North Dakota St is a beast of a program. They would beat a lot of FBS teams. I'm not surprised at all this kid came in and just ground out yards against ND.
It’s run up the gut on the right side or bust with this staffHe was really a pleasant surprise. Tough and efficient. He and Fletcher (who we just accept will probably never run with patience and never be an easy watch, but looks really good right now) are tough to bring down.
I just hope CMC doesn't fall win love with him…We still need Lyle's speed and big play ability to be our #1.
Yeah - 2 feel good games and then back to reality with UF-FSU.He's got Bethune and USF coming up, so Lyle should feast as our starting can crusher.

I hope our lack of explosiveness isn't an issue and we can make ground & pound work all year. I "think" we can.
Was surprised by his speed and agility at his size thought he'd be more of a plodder
Not only that - he's a violent runner.
