No homo. I'm talking sybians

I suspect the same. He's certainly a solid RB, but I think many here are extrapolating from that one really long one he had last year.

I don't think we have anyone close to an "elite" RB in the Edge/Portis/Gore/McGahee category. Probably not even the Lamar Miller range. But they are all pretty solid.
I'd say all are a step below Damien Martinez - but that's ok.

While not dynamic, behind this OL they can be very effective (like on Saturday).

We just went toe to toe with ND (the best RB's in the country). The other Top 10 teams weren't impressive this weekend. So we could be just fine.

The RB's should be rock solid, but Beck & the WR's will carry us.

Have to admit - I wasn't thrilled to see Lyle get the start.

In games decided by under 28 pts - Lyle is now 29 for 81 - 2.8 ypc.

I just don't think Lyle is the dynamic RB he's being billed as. I wouldn't call Brown dynamic either (I don't think any of our top 3 are) - but Brown's a no-nonsense straight ahead hammer. I'm happy we got him.
He's got Bethune and USF coming up, so Lyle should feast as our starting can crusher.

North Dakota St is a beast of a program. They would beat a lot of FBS teams. I'm not surprised at all this kid came in and just ground out yards against ND.
I loved this get from day one for that very reason.
Incredibly disciplined program that gets kids with a like mindset, guys that relish the opportunity to play, no prima donnas.

I want to see more of Brown before saying he's just good. Seems to be able to get skinny like Deejay. Definitely intrigued me. Lyle got hurt almost right away so I'm not sure how we can evaluate his play at this point.

Was surprised by his speed and agility at his size thought he'd be more of a plodder

He was really a pleasant surprise. Tough and efficient. He and Fletcher (who we just accept will probably never run with patience and never be an easy watch, but looks really good right now) are tough to bring down.

I just hope CMC doesn't fall win love with him…We still need Lyle's speed and big play ability to be our #1.
It’s run up the gut on the right side or bust with this staff

***** RB screen or swing passes, or jet sweeps, or misdirection like counters and traps…..

Yeah - 2 feel good games and then back to reality with UF-FSU.

I hope our lack of explosiveness isn't an issue and we can make ground & pound work all year. I "think" we can.

We could sneak up to the #2 or #3 spot prior to UF. The Turds play LSU right before us, and UGA is at Tennessee. Penn State plays Oregon on 9/27 too. Buckle up.
