Shalala is stepping down

Don't believe me get in WQAM interviews and listen to Kirk Herbsreit interview, better go back and watch the 10 years of game film!

i take it that you never spoke to those northwestern kids in 2008. half of them couldn't speak understandable english. great football players (in high school anyway), but they were not remotely academically qualified for any major university.

Our football program is a small part of our entire school system and it will NEVER be how it is in Alabama or FSU. We are a small privet school and the only reason we are able to have a good team in the past is because of the talent around the city.

Any president that steps foot on this campus will be hired by the trustees to better the university not the football program & if you can't comprehends that you should not be commenting on this subject.


Shalala has brought in more money for this school then anyone in history of this program and that has helped this football program. If you want to fire Golden, or you want to hire a better coach.. that will cost you a pretty penny.. and guess what!? your not going to pay for it.. the school is.


Either way.. the program with our program is NOT the president of the university (i still can't believe I have to type that because some of you believe everything Luke tweets) its with our staff, and you don't make decisions like this after 2 games! you wait out at the VERY least half way through the season.

I dunno maybe it's bc we are in the midst of our worst athletic stretch since the mid 1970s?

Maybe not everyone wants to see Miami turn into Duke South?

Maybe we resent that she neglected funding any football related projects for over ten years, instead putting money into a basketball program?

Maybe some of us have pride in our degrees where we don't need some US News and World report to improve our self esteem??

Yeah, mostly crickets, but the anti-shalala crew will parrot some mealy mouthed complaint that she lost the OB and that the school never really funded any of the facilities and how it was mostly private donations that did it (Edge, Rock, etc).
 
Has UM ever had any president that cared about athletics? We would win in spite of the president.

I don't think a new president is gonna change athletics. The biggest positive i see out of this is the new president would have no reason to keep Al Golden. Shalala was infatuated with Golden and it would of taken a whole lot worse than what he's doing now to get fired. Especially the way he exaggerates positives, no matter how small they may be.

Funny that this fund-raising Monster, who's raised BILLIONS couldn't raise a few million more to hire some good coaches.

So, based on these facts, I call BS.
 
Shalala became pres in 2001. The football victory fund and new Schwartz center didn't come to life until two seasons ago. 2001-2012 is over ten years of neglect.

you do understand this is a UNIVERSITY that has a football program not a football program that has classes once in a while?

Jacory Spence and Streeter were all very smart kids Streeter was actually attending Turner Tech which was a magnet program so yes you don't know what your talking about.
