Hey guys. Yeah yeah yeah, it's been a while since I posted anything. Go ahead with your jokes.

ANYWAY, I was out at SFE tryouts today with Pete Ariz and reps from a BUNCH of recruiting services. I got a good look at nearly 300 of the top skill position players from South Florida. Here's my recap of who caught my eye, either good or bad.

Cream of the crop
2015 RB Jordan Cronkite - Westminster Christian - This kid is an absolute beast. Was a top performer in the agility drills. Was absolutely uncoverable in 1-on-1's. Dominated the section of the 7-on-7's that I saw. Stud.

2015 QB Torrance Gibson - American Heritage - my friend Dieter Kurtenbach of the Sun-Sentinel put it best when talking about Gibson: "He's left handed Terrelle Pryor". Spot on. Smooth and SUPER athletic. Short and intermediate accuracy need work, but this is a 5-star player. Easy evaluation.

2015 CB Tarvarus McFadden - American Heritage - I know Pete disagrees with this, and that's ok. McFadden is fluid and smooth and played incredibly well. He's also MASSIVE. He's already 200lbs and will get bigger. He'll be 215lbs and moved to safety for college.

2015 LB Tevon Coney - Palm Beach Gardens - Noticed him when Miramar played PBG, and have been on him since. He's got good size (6'2", 215lbs) and can do it all. Will be a high 4-star recruit.

2016 WR Sam Bruce - St. Thomas Aquinas - This kid is just so smooth. And quick. And just really **** good. Not much else to say.

Best of the Rest
2015 LB Dominic Sheppard - Westminster - First off, he's huge. 6'2" 235lbs-ish. Second, he stood out in nearly every drill and practice segment. Remember this name.

2016 LB Devin Bush Jr. - Flanagan - Needs to grow some, but he's SUCH a good player. Dominated 1-on-1's. Flew all over the field.

2015 CB Rashard Causey - University School - First off, I know he's leaving USchool, but I had to put that for now. Second, he worked really well in coverage. Showed why he's so highly thought of.

2015 CB Tyrek Cole - Miramar - High 4-star recruit came late (he told me he overslept), but once he showed up, he showed out.

2015 RB Alex Anderson - Miramar - Dominated 1-on-1's working both out of the backfield and the slot. Made you watch him play. Will be a 4-star recruit. Really a good showing.

2015 WR Kahlil Lewis - Miramar - Made a few leaping catches, and won nearly every rep in 1-on-1's. Showed good burst in and out of his cuts, and caught the ball effortlessly.

2015 CB Jeff Hill Jr - Miramar - Did well through the agility drills and beginning of 1-on-1's until he pulled a hamstring. There was talk that he is even a better cover corner than his counterpart Tyrek Cole.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Cam works at Miramar and that's why he's putting all those Miramar kids on this list." Not true. Lewis was also dominant on the day, and MULTIPLE journalists from the Sun-Sentinel, Herald, ESPN, U.S. Army game and Scout.com were heard discussing Lewis and all the Miramar kids I've listed. So there.

2015 WR Jonathan Washington - St. Thomas Aquinas - He abused defensive backs all day long. Good size, nice quickness, and great hands. Willbe a 3-star player.

2015 CB Damon Arnette - St. Thomas Aquinas - Caught my attention in the agility drills, and continued to hold it through the rest of the day. He's tall and thin (6'1" ish) but he bullied receivers and played lockdown coverage all day. Remember his name. He'll start for the Raiders in the fall.

2015 LB Roderick Archer - South Plantation - Excellent in coverage. Plays with instincts that simply can't be taught. Really impressed by him.

Risers and other attention grabbers
A short list of guys who have raised their profile after today's session:

2016 DB Deion Jackson - Hallandale - Late edit because I'm an idiot and forgot him. Started well in agility drills and backed up that strong showing with his play during the rest of the day. Listed as CB now but I think he could be great at FS.

2016 WR Drederick Snelson - American Heritage - Played very well. Pete talked to him, and said Snelson will probably switch to Safety once practice starts at Heritage. He'll make a name for himself soon.

2017 WR Leroy Hanley Jr. - Hallandale - Remember this name, guys. Made play after play after play. REALLY excelled. He's on the radar now.

2015 CB James Oliphant - St. Thomas Aquinas - Outplayed all of his STA teammates other than Arnette and Bruce. He'll rise fast.

2015 WR Korron Rozier - Coconut Creek - Another guy who stood out from the first drill of the day until I left. 3-star player.

2016 QB Tyler Huntley - Hallandale - This was my first time seeing him in person and I was impressed. Good touch and a live arm.

2016 WR Anthony Taylor - Dade Christian - I wasn't going to list him, but he just kept making plays. And when I started watching him, I couldn't stop. Diamond in the rough.

2018 CB Patrick Surtain II - American Heritage - Another stupid omission by me. Yes, he's young. And yes, Pat Surtain has a kid in 8th grade now. You're old. But, this kid is smooth as can be, with fluid hips and tricks of the trade learned from his Dad. Years away from being a NAME player, but man, is he gonna be good.

This was really a good event. I had fun.

You may now dissect my list. Have at it, guys.

Very good list Cam and Lewis is legit I hope UM can flip him and offer Cronkite!

Lewis said he'd welcome a UM offer when asked by a reporter.

Cronkite needs an offer. RB or S. I don't care. I want that kid in Orange and Green. The stuff he did to those poor poor LBs trying to cover him bordered on child abuse.

Lewis said from what I read on twitter that he'll be at the UM junior day so I believe that. Where do you think Cronkites best at

Great stuff. I've been using the same comparison for Gibson.

What position do you think Cronkite ends up at?

Cam, D$, Pete.

Any of those players listed above have the Canes high high on their lists (don't wanna say locks) in which we have a GREAT show at getting?

Yes, Lewis will be there for Junior day.
Cronkite can do whatever he wants. Seriously. Unlimited potential.

So, we haven't offered TMcFadden, Conkrite. KMcFadden wasn't a priority. Gibson is disappointed.

What the **** is going on here?

I would love to pull Irvin and Cronkite their highlights were unreal. Also St. Thomas has really good athletes at the skill positions and defensive backfield this year. That team should be fun to watch.

McFadden isn't a corner but he is definitely a big athlete. Looking forward to watching him this year.
