SFE tryout recap

Cam, what'd you think of Solomon? Impressed me in a game this year. He does need to work on his hands but a very nice athlete for the Lions.

So, we haven't offered TMcFadden, Conkrite. KMcFadden wasn't a priority. Gibson is disappointed.

What the **** is going on here?

Just business as usual.....

Just don't get it, starting to get discouraged.

I understand there are politics in the HS game in SFla. However, every year you should find out who the 4 or 5 leaders are down here, offer immediately and recruit the **** out of them. I just don't understand ignoring local ballers, who also happen to have pull with other kids in their class.

I would like to know who the **** is a priority in the 2015 class? Seems like we are already dragging our feet there.

Not every 4 or 5* recruit is as recognized to a coaching staff but since they're 2015 guys its not about if they have offers now but are the coaches talking to them and if not then they deserve to get ripped

I personally think that the staff is over-thinking it with a lot of these kids. I feel like they are trying to look for flaws in their games rather than just offering along with every other top school because they want to look like the "smartest in the room". There is no harm in offering a kid, then if the staff changes their mind a few months later or doesn't like the development they've shown, then they just stop recruiting the kid. Happened with kids like Dennis Turner and Alin Edouard. I just wish they did it with Tarvarus McFadden and Cronkrite types.

D'Onofrio is terrible at identifying talent. Golden isn't much better. Coley seems alright.

Agree.

I think it would help with the SFLA coaching community as well.

THat becomes a problem if they wait too long and one thing I wonder is do they have that 1 guy whos the 'key" in the community who each local HS coach can go to and really talk up the right recruits who deserve the offers? It seems like the staff does most of this on their own instead of coaches really letting them in on these top guys to get on them earl, just a weird disconnect

This has been going on since Al arrived. They send kids packing over certain positions. Look at the Treon situation. He would have been a Cane and would have been recruiting for us for months. Sometimes this staff doesn't get it.

I'm guessing in a few days they will put out a video of the tryout highlights like they did when duke, tracy coley and the rest were there. Whats the other big 7on 7 team in the area?

SFHSSports will have some videos up soon, I'm sure.

The other big team is the "Fire". They have Shawn Burgess-Becker, Calvin Ridley, 2016 Coconut Creek DB Maleek Young (kid is a BEAST, trust me) and others. SFE still the big dogs, tho.
