Go check out our average class rank (this doesn't mean we didn't have a number of recruits get away or there wasn't room to complain about recruiting) and then compare it to our competitors under the last three head coaches.

What you'll find is that recruiting wasn't ever the big problem. We outrecruited most of the teams we lost to, that's coaching. We fired all three coaches because of their win / loss record.

First of all, Chip hates recruiting (he said that to Philly Mag, look it up).

Second, he's never recruited south Florida. He has ZERO connections. He's going to need lots of local help. Lack of familiarity is why Fraulden hired so many "recruiters". By the way, Butch doesn't have that problem.

Yes, Butch is known, but I'd bet more kids could tell you more about Kelly than Butch. Oregon is recent, Butch is ancient history. The current recruits would've been in middle school when Butch last coached and UNC wasn't lighting anyone up like Chip was with Oregon.

Yes I believe shaq should stay regardless who the coach is because at the end of the day you commit to a school not a coach always. The U is much bigger than any coach.

I wasn't insulting anyone. So no reason for you to play captain save a ho. If a recruit decides he has to go because of coaching uncertainty then so be it. But Miami shouldn't be making a decision in fear of recruits getting antsy

Just a reminder the dead period begins December 15, 2015 and if a coach has not been appointed at least a week before that date our recruiting will be severely impaired as the dead period is almost one full month. That means no contact with recruits.

I would be surprised if Chip Kelly is considered, too many NCAA issues and we're having a hard enough considering Butch Davis who has been cleared by the NCAA and two chancellors of the University of North Carolina of any wrong doing. I still believe Butch Davis is the best potential coach of the Miami Hurricanes.

You should know Butch Davis is now being looked at by other major universities and even if offered now Miami is not a lock. Some people in the Athletic Department at Miami have messed this up.

And you know this how?

Probably UCF or another ACC school would be interested in Butch at this point.

You're working on the premise that they wouldn't get some type of guarantee from Kelly far before D-Day. The timeline will tell you everything. If no one is hired by Mid-December, an NFL coach is getting hired and UM is fine with waiting.

The U part 2 helped get Butch's name out to a lot of recruits and young adults. What kids know about coaches at the end of the cycle is much more important than what kids know at the beginning. I am sure Butch's prestige would be spread throughout SoFlo with the help of former players and coaches. Although he coached at Miami 15 years ago, all these kids watched his recruits i.e. ed reed, the dominant rbs, dj williams, etc. ball out in the NFL. Neither Chip nor Butch would have a problem recruiting kids down here.

I think we end up with a coach before the NFL season ends anyway.
