What about those waivers a majority of our EEs? Wouldn't that still give our coaches unlimited access to them during the dead period. If that was the case naming a coach before the dead period wouldn't be a necessity.

50% chance IMO we know who the coach is within a week. Rumor mill is heating up, but it's still very quiet. I think the Kelly rumors have some validity as they have likely kicked the tire there. In the end, I doubt that happens.

Shaq pops, I am willing to concede some kids to "collateral damage" if we are talking about a DEFINITE shot at grabbing a big fish. But if this is all just hearsay and "Jon Gruden" like hood rumors, then there is no way in **** I sacrifice all this "program changing" talent for one unicorn. (Chip Kelly) We have been burned too much in the past.

If I had the chose of either having Butch in my hand now and keeping all our current commits AND tacking on a few more (Jamel Cook, Bethel, Pie Young, etc)

I would be surprised if Chip Kelly is considered, too many NCAA issues and we're having a hard enough considering Butch Davis who has been cleared by the NCAA and two chancellors of the University of North Carolina of any wrong doing. I still believe Butch Davis is the best potential coach of the Miami Hurricanes.

You should know Butch Davis is now being looked at by other major universities and even if offered now Miami is not a lock. Some people in the Athletic Department at Miami have messed this up.

I didnt say that was the date we hire the coach. I said even if he wants in, he needs to send his rep to let us know. Dude, we have an early entry class coming in second week of Dec. To all you guys in a panic over losing recruits, there are at least 10 Power 5 HC jobs that will open up not to mention the resulting domino effect of schools losing the prized HC to one of these openings.

There are going to be a bunch of recruits unsure about their future coaching staff. It is not just the U recruits. So calm down and let the process run its course!! We will get our share. We just need to make sure we hire the right person.
