Just a reminder the dead period begins December 15, 2015 and if a coach has not been appointed at least a week before that date our recruiting will be severely impaired as the dead period is almost one full month. That means no contact with recruits.

I would be surprised if Chip Kelly is considered, too many NCAA issues and we're having a hard enough considering Butch Davis who has been cleared by the NCAA and two chancellors of the University of North Carolina of any wrong doing. I still believe Butch Davis is the best potential coach of the Miami Hurricanes.

You should know Butch Davis is now being looked at by other major universities and even if offered now Miami is not a lock. Some people in the Athletic Department at Miami have messed this up.

Butch probably has a firm idea on where he stands with the Miami job. And it's his clear #1 choice.

Although I hope the admin makes a decision fairly soon, I'd be surprised if Butch were to accept anything prior to a decision being made here....

They'll only mess something up if they make a poor hire.

I felt they should have made the move right after we lost to UNC. I think they are trying to give the appearance of due diligence. Now, if we don't announce soon, as you say, we miss a great opportunity for our coach to hit the ground running in recruiting. They need to hurry and get this done.
 
This Chip Kelly BS is to delay so Butch goes elsewhere and we are left w Mario. Look at the Mario ****riders starting the rumors about chip kelly.

Our AD is about to fck up royally and the program will die all for the sake of a handful of self interested asshats
 
Shaq official visit is December 11th..also in attendance will be Mike, Zach, Jack, Berhel, Jamal Cook, Bryd..to name a few...and i am leary on attending without a HC..but was told to come they understood the importance of a HC on an Official Visit... We are going and we will see.

So Miami should have the new hc named after Pitt game between decemember 7th or so?

UknowWhat, who would you like to see as the HC? Not holding you to this or going to bash you for it? Gimme 3-5 guys in no particular order.

Jim Harbaugh was hired December 29th. I'm sure Michigan regrets not hiring someone earlier due to the recruiting dead period. Get the right coach. All that matters. I couldn't care less about any kid who decided they couldn't wait. Good luck to them and their family.

IMO, if there's no HC named by the December 11th visits, it means an NFL HC or OC is taking the job.

Yes I believe shaq should stay regardless who the coach is because at the end of the day you commit to a school not a coach always. The U is much bigger than any coach.

If you look back through recent threads, I think the answer is pretty plain. Not going to speak out of place though.
 
Miami hired Al Golden on Dec 13th, not the first week of December, so I wouldn't expect a different turnout.

I wasn't insulting anyone. So no reason for you to play captain save a ho. If a recruit decides he has to go because of coaching uncertainty then so be it. But Miami shouldn't be making a decision in fear of recruits getting antsy

Nothing has been messed with the coaching search. If Butch get's it great! If not, it's because he never was going to get it and that is why he jumped at another job. However, he knows this is his last best chance for success and if he takes a job at a lesser school, it will be just like the bad choice he made jumping on the Cleveland offer.

All the names that's swirling around the board now have something to bring to the table that will bring UM back to football relevance...Some more than others. I think whom ever is hired will come in with an urgency to right the ship... they will have all eyes on them... From my short time on this forum...I know that everyone here will not be happy with the choice... but to answer your question I would have to go Butch because he is the one I'm most familiar with... and I've seen his work... It will be a very long shot for him to repeat his performance, but again you know he is capable of doing it. Chip Kelly would definitely be a bolt of electricity that could resurrect the program and Herman is new blood that looking to make a name for himself... I would have to go 1. Butch 2. Kelly 3.Herman ... I'm not too familiar with Mario and from what I hear recruiting is his strong point... but I feel you don't need to be a very good recruiter at Bama... so he didn't make my top 3
