This is real desperation time. If he cannot properly coach and develop 3 and 4 star guys we have who had offers from big schools how is he going to develop a 265 pound defensive tackle with no stars and offers from division 2 schools?

“I’m not sure,” Merritt said. “If they do it’s a conversation I’d have to have with my parents because I’m committed to Eastern Michigan right now.”

An interesting note when it comes to Merritt: Former Moeller High graduate Alex Gall, who played for Miami, is now coaching at the school.
“Alex was at my house during the visit from coach Searels - he’s told me he loved it at Miami, and that coach Searels is a great coach.”

Merritt says he’ll sign somewhere in the early period.
