People dont wanna face facts. Toledo and Bethune are really bringing his averages up. And the most important games of the season, that graph clearly shows he was terrible.
...but oh no its got pink and blue and orange and green....my eyes! lol. Whatever they can say to not actually admit what the chart shows is plain bad.

Jeezus christ bruh... context is a secondary lost art. Ill spell it out. Berni kosar 84 12 games(regular season no bowl game included in his stats) malik rosier (who you & 1 other dude insist on comparing his stats with everyone else)13 games which includes the acccg & orange bowl.... simple enough? So if you wanna keep comparing his season to everyone else than take off the results of both those games & compare their regular season stats (unless the other person ur comparing him to has those stats included as well.) Thats all. Otherwise if its irrelevant like you say than just stop mentioning all these stats when u decide to argue on a pointless topic. One thing everyone should realize is last season means ****. Moving foward hopefully they can all make the right decisions and decide this on the field. Thanks & goodnight.

Oh & fyi the comparison of him towards any others other than ryan collins,derrick crudup,frank costa or kirby Freeman is a horrible one... other than for freeman we have never dumbed down an offense even to a fraction of what we did for malik. Numbers lie in plenty of instances. Im sorry if that hets lost on others but it dont on me. He is top 3 for our worst starting qbs since howard took over(and even thats pushing it)

Let me spell it out one more time for you bruh. I’m not comparing Kosar to Rosier. I’m saying, for you and anybody else who seem to be “anybody but Malik” like 3600 yards is just plug and play with any old Freshmans, it ain’t happened since 1984, and 31 TDs has never happened. So what if it’s one more game? If Arky State hadn’t been cancelled Malik would be sitting all alone atop all the season records, and you’d get to be real ****ed about it.

Unfortunately, Malik’s 3600 yards didn’t keep us from losing the last three games no more than Bernie’s 3600 keep us from dropping the last three games in 1984. So you can cut the sanctimonious crap about how last year’s stats don’t matter because we ended up 10-3 while saying the stats from a 8-5 1984 team are off limits as legendary.

I only said it’s been that long since we’ve cracked 3600 yards from the QB position. I made no comparison between the 2 QBs. None. Yet that seems to be the argument everyone wants to have because it’s easier to argue that than the reality. Malik is the QB now until someone takes the job from him. He wears the U on the side of his helmet. Don’t sit here and trash his production as trash while telling me that 8-5 1984 Bernie Kosar is sone sort of unapproachable God we can’t discuss.

I would hope so. He he's had the playbook longer than everyone. Ask yourself this, where else would you see a 5th year senior be fighting tooth and nail with a true freshman QB and a RS FR?

According to what I'm hearing, it is not a tooth and nail fight. Rick keeps saying, Thomas Brown keeps saying, even Berrios has been at a few practices and said it's Malik and it ain't close. Why is everyone so **** bent on ignoring that? I mean, the only person really saying anything different is @Brooklyndee, and while I respect and appreciate his opinion, it's just one of many.

I'm just convinced the people defending him just haven't seen the games though and the chart just doesn't do it justice how bad he was. But if
I don't like him or think he's a good qb and ends up our quarterback it's not like I'm going to wish him bad lol

How very...millennial of you. Anybody who disagrees with your opinion must have something wrong with them. Your opinion can't possibly be flawed. There are no other other angles to be considered. Who cares how many games he won? He's a loser. Who cares how many yards he gained? He can't throw a football for ****. Who cares how many TD's he scored? Miracles. Luck. Divine intervention... What does it matter his O-line sucked, our running game was pedestrian, and the top three offensive weapons were sidelined with injury? Poor excuse. A real QB would have overcome such minor adversity.

Malik probably faced as many Top 50 defenses as any QB last year as well. He didn't play a cream puff schedule of ds.


Yes, he is average, but the hate here is laughable.

Always abundance of haters on various Canes forums. They may hate a few players. A few assistant coaches. They may hate head coach. These posters generally are negative in their entire lifestyle. They are usually social failures. Therefore it is natural behavior for them to continually find fault with various things about the team. They are very unhappy individuals and always see “cup half empty”

There is no comparing Kaaya and Rosier. Anyone throwing up the coastal championship and wins vs Top 25 has lost their ability to accurately remember the differences in teams each played with and most importantly, individual performances in the games they played.

There is a laundry list of examples where games should and could have been won during Kaaya's tenure where factors beyond his control cost us wins.

He wasn't all world, he had his deficiencies, but the whole "Well Malik beat FSU" position when discussing the two QBs is preposterous.

So now you're an insider. Richt and Brown did not say at any point that Rosier is far and away better than Perry/Weldon/Williams. They said he's in the lead and that's it. Berrios didn't come out and say it isn't even close; he said that he expects Malik to be the starter. Berrios has also been around Rosier for 4 years and was his roommate at one point so you don't think he's emotionally invested into him?

Uh.......again Brad Kaaya has not been without criticism on this board. He's gotten his fair share of criticism amongst UM fans.

But if you dive deeper, his first two years was under Golden and hamstrung by Coley as an OC - the same OC that thought it was a great idea to throw a halfback pass in the snow on the final drive in a bowl game when Kaaya was lighting up the defense.

His last year here, Richt was implementing his RPO system which Kaaya doesn't fit in.

We haven't had a real coach since joining the ACC. You put Rosier on Coker's later teams, Shannon, or Golden's team and we don't win the ACC or 10 games in one season.

He's got some major shortcomings, and they were exposed badly late in the season (the "other shoe" dropped, as alluded to in my post.) I'll go on record saying I'd like to see Perry or Williams take the reins and run with it, but to sit here and pretend we got zero production out of our QB all last year is disingenuous.

Obviously if you throw a receiver a ball and it hits him right in the heart and it bounces up and it’s an interception, on the stat it’s an interception, but for us he gets a plus because he put it exactly where I asked him to put it. So we give an accuracy grade instead of a completion grade. We have a grade for doing their job properly. We have a grade for the technique of doing their job properly, which is mostly ball handling stuff. Then we have a grade for accuracy. That’s kinda how we grade. Malik is ahead of everybody as far of knowing what to do and how to do it. There’s no question. Even throughout the week, we had eight other practices. It was very evident that if we’re going to try to run our total system, he’s more than well equipped to do it.”

But I also am not foolish enough to just blindly believe that Malik can't run the offense, can't read the defense, can't call out protection and alignment, and can't make it past his first read just because some anonymous person on an internet message board says so when I have the coach saying the exact opposite.

The film's there - you can literally see countless times where if his first option isn't open he just takes off. He doesn't go through his progressions.

You say **** the chart because it doesn't help your argument. It shows where Rosier ranks in a lot of categories, and it's not flattering.

I can agree with that somewhat - I definitely think his accuracy and lack of ability to read the field were exposed. I agree he was the weak link on our offense, especially after three of the strongest "links" went down with injury in Richards, Walton, and Herndon.
