You know I don't care who wins as long as the level of QB play gets better and more consistent. I do like busting people's balls though.

Given what you've been able to get a look at, do you think Williams earns some first team reps before the Spring ends, or are they working him through the basics?

Ive been of the opinion that cade isnt getting a fair shot at the job. Dont know if its cause weve decided hes not talented enough or not. In my opinion regardless hes behind the others in growth. He just doesnt flash at this point like youd wanna see. I saw cade today & he looked fine to me so im not sure what thats about. Didnt ask.

He already gets some first team reps as well. Not as many as nkosi & malik but he gets reps. To me its gonna be real hard keeping him away from this job if he continues to learn the playbook & show growth. Way i see it all any of us should want is a healthy competition where these dudes start to seperate from each other. Cause at this point its still simply they all show alot of mediocrity blended in with moments of flashing. Probably the least of the crap moments has come from jarren but thats not enough to win a job. I wanna see one eliminate the mistakes from their game and shine. When one gets to that point we will be ready to show the college football nation what we got. For the people who think clemson is so far ahead of us well my only reply to that is like jeru the damaja said "your playin yourself" i dont think everyone realizes just how big this freshman class will be for us. These kids from top to bottom are ballers. The db class is gonna make a WORLD of difference for us. Its gonna allow us to finally show a lil versatility in our play calling. Im ecstatic with the direction were headed. Not much seperates us from the elite anymore. A qb needs to be the first step to that though.

Just a guess, conjunctivitis is extremely contagious during a certain stage. Cade may be waiting on an all clear from the Doc.

Encouraging news on Jarron. I also saw where Rick Jr. said Kosi is making progress with calling out his defensive keys, but that he still needs to get more confident with what he sees and call it out. I don't think people should be writing him off just yet, even though I'm guilty of busting the balls of those who have been trying to anoint him. It's hard to come in as a Freshman and earn a spot right away. College experience is the one thing you can't get in high school, and that can be a daunting hurdle to climb.

I'm torn between wanting them to scrap it out and push each other until September, and realizing that at some point the #1 guy needs to be taking 1st team reps exclusively while the others fight it out for QB2.

I agree dee. At this point, we have to take what CMR and JR are saying with a grain of salt and attempt to read between the lines. Neither CMR or JR want to discourage any of the QB's. Thus, the coach speak. My hope is that one of the QB's takes the bull by the horns in the next few months and clearly separates themselves from the others. At this point, I don't want to make a prediction and look like a fool later.

I'm gunna ******* look at all QB stats in the FBS and see how he compares, We'll see if he even finishes top 65/128 (there are 65 P5 schools and 128 FBS schools).

I don't care for Malik, but give me a RSr. who led the team to 10 wins and played in HUGE college games over a true freshman and another freshman who played sandlot football a year ago. Neither of whom who has taken a snap vs. an LSU D full of 4-5 star defenders or anything close. Now granted that defense somehow starts nothing but Fresh, R-Fresh and Soph. but it's still going to be nothing the HS kids have yet to see.


Let Malik win that game, the give the kids a chance later on if needed (and NOT the way he gave Allison his "chance")

Goal #1, get to 1-0 by beating LSU

Malik Rosier's 3605 yards is the most for a Hurricane QB since Bernie Kosar put up 3642 in 1984, and his 31 TDs was the most ever, 2 more than Walsh's 29 in 1988. Malik Rosier is not as terrible as some of y'all are trying to make out. Do his stats hide how bad he was at times? Yes. Should we demand better than streaky QB play? Yes. But to say we won 10 games IN SPITE of Malik's contributions is as insane as saying all he did against FSU was complete one miracle pass. We gave up a lead in the 4th quarter of that game three times, and all three times, Malik marched us right back down and took back the lead.

I tend to agree with you on this one. I honestly don't see CMR throwing any of the other 3 to the wolves IF they haven't clearly made significant progress come August.
 
Malik isnt a good QB, but the streak of losing to FSU would have continued if it wasnt for him.

The defense badly **** the bed that game, but its forgotten about bc we won in such an amazing and soul crushing to Nole fans way.

I honestly believe the fastest way to offensive improvement could be in OL play. We never controlled teams up front the way a top 5 team should, and it caught up to us.

An elite OL is IMO more valuable than an elite QB.

1. Was that already a low bar for a record
Many a man has been under center since Kosar's 1984 season and Walsh's 1988 season, and nobody has been able to accomplish what the man you say never deserves another snap was able to accomplish. To write off Malik's 31 TD's as garbage numbers from a garbage QB that doesn't deserve to even be considered this season is to say that every other QB who's season record he buried is garbage as well. The game ain't change so much that contributing 31 touchdowns has become an insignificant, non-factor when determining the outcome of games and seasons. We won 10 games instead of 6 or 7 because of Malik's contributions, but we also won 10 instead of 12 because of Malik's contributions.
