No one is saying he shouldn't have been the starter. He was the best available on our roster. That by no means makes him any good.

He made a great throw at FSU, that's true. But he was 19 of 44 that game. He hit the miracle against G Tech but it was the wrong read, undertrown and into double coverage.

His remaining starts were average to horrific and got progressively worse.

I don't know, maybe it's your logic that is flawed. What logic are you basing it on that Perry, Williams or Weldon would do any better than Rosier did last year, this year? Oh wait, you actually can't considering none of the 3 have ever taken a college snap before. You, plus anyone else who simply want Rosier pushed aside have ZERO CLUE, NONE at all as to how any of the 3 QB's behind him will fair. To simply say, let one of the younger guys start because you don't want to see Rosier under center again is the real flawed logic. If anything, to this very day, what we do know about Perry and Weldon at least, is based on there performances in practice and scrimmages, neither of them deserve to be the starter over Rosier. ****, it's not even close considering how poorly both have performed in non-contact scrimmages. And not to mention neither of them can run the the offense anywhere near how Malik can now and that came straight of CMR's mouth. The only guy that at this point, and it's still a stretch considering he just got here 3 months ago, who should be in the discussion is JW. And that's only because he actually performed the best in the 1st scrimmage of all the QB's and appears to have impressed Richt.

And you might want to look at Rosier's stats again. His remaining starts post FSU were average to horrific? Some yeah, but you said all of them. I would say that is pretty inaccurate. Look at his stat lines against GT, CUSE and ND.

Versus GT he completed 62% of his passes for 297 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT
Versus Syracuse he completed 60.5% of his passes for 344 yards, 2 TD and 0 INT
Versus Notre Dame he completed 62.5 of his passes for 137 yards, 1 TD and 0 INT

Lastly, I by no means am a Rosier fan, nor do I actually care for him to start again. However, to this very day, no QB behind him has shown they are ready to take over for him and supplant him as the Hurricanes starter. All anyone is basing that off of is a bunch of hype and high school results, because no one behind has done **** thus far in college and they are stinking it up on the practice field and in scrimmages.

Can you please share what you are basing this off of? I would love to know considering NONE of the 3 have ever taken a college snap before. 2 of the 3 have underwhelmed in scrimmages and practices thus far where there is no contact. So how is it some certainty that one of the three will definitely progress during the season or even be better than what Rosier was last year?

The truth is, you can't base it off anything. You, like most, are simply HOPING that will be the case. However, there is nothing, zero, zilch to support that would actually occur.

We are supposed to be a national championship contending team. Why would we even think about going into any game with even the slightest disadvantage.

RZ% is just a percentage of scores per attempt. If you count a successful defensive stand in the redzone as simply not allowing a TD (or better yet limiting the amount of redzone attempts in the first place!!), our RZ defense jumps to 39th in the country, want to know why? Because we held teams in the redzone to field goals at a higher percentage than other teams. Ranking us 105th just off scores/attempt is very flawed imo.

Example, whats better **in 20 attempts** -option A) A defense that allows 20 field goals and no TDs - or - option B) A defense that allows 11 TDs and no field goals? .... Option A has a RZ% of 100% which would rank dead ******* last in the NCAA, but they will have only allowed 60 total points in the RZ. Meanwhile Option B has a RZ% of 55% which would be 6% BETTER than the best defense in the NCAA last year, yet they allowed 66 total points in the RZ (not even including PATs - with PATs it'd be 77pts!).....so as far as POINTS per Redzone Attempt, we rank 62nd. So when looking solely at Tds and points in the redzone, our defense actually should be in the 40-60 range, not 105.
However, Its better to not even have redzone attempts in the first place, right? Well, We rank bottom 50 in defensive RZ attempts (as in less attempt = lower ranking). So again, further showing that our defense was much better thank that 105 ranking would have you believe.

Now a 3rd down % example. ...Option A) a defense allows two 3rd down conversions, and then holds them to a punt on the third 3rd down of the drive - OR - Option B) A defense allows the offense to drive down the field without even getting a 3rd down until they get to the redzone where they finally hold them to a field goal. ....I'd prefer option A.

Sure its anecdotal, but it has a point - its what our entire ******* defensive philosophy is.... If you look at that through the scope of the season, what do you get? - The defense faces a lot of 3rd downs, but limits the amount of Redzone attempts. So yes, we may rank 75th in the country in 3rd down %, but we also rank 4th In opponent 3rd down attempts, and as I already said, bottom 50 in opponent RZ attempts. Want to guess what happens when we combine those two things?

There are only 7 P5 teams whose defense is in the bottom 50 in 3rd down attempts, and top 50 in Redzone attempts - Rutgers, Kansas, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oregon St, and Nebraska.

There are only 13 P5 teams whose defense was in the top 50 in 3rd down attempts, and bottom 50 in redzone attempts - TCU, Clemson, Alabama, UGA, Washington, Auburn, PSU, tOSU, FSU, Purdue, Boston College, Northwestern, and Us. ....notice anything in common? maybe how this is essentially just a list of the best defenses in the country last yr....which INCLUDES US.

Then you combine that information with the face we were 1st in sack/game, 3rd in total Turnovers Gained, 4th in TFLs per game, 11th in TDs allowed total, 12th in Yards per Play! and 23rd in Defensive passing efficiency, and you got a great ******* defense. Obviously the 3rd down and RZ D needs to improve, but some yall need to stop acting like our defense was anything but great last year and that anyone besides Rosier and the offense was to blame for the losses.

I am willing to wager that if either Evan or Nkosi is our starter last year, we aren't a .500 team. People need to be thankful we finally managed a 10 win season after 15 years and a trip to the ACCG for the first time ever. Now everyone wants a QB who has never taken college snap to just take over without showing they deserve it because some folks just don't want to see Rosier out there again. Unless someone is head and shoulders better than Rosier, Rosier not only needs to be out there, I am willing to be Richt puts him out there. He is not going to start someone simply because they are younger and test the waters hoping they do better in live situations, versus doing poor in practice.

With evan were probably a six win team with nkosi playing under the same limitations as malik provided its pretty similar. Everyone runs straight to the playbook but the reality of that comment is although malik knows the playbook we stick to 20% of it at best due to his limitations. We literally ran a handful of plays all year over & over. As much as you go to the defense defencies which i wont argue make the assumption we have that again also,well than it would be foolish to assume we get the same perks out of that same atrocious defense.tell nkosi all he can run is 5 different plays all season. Thats it just know how to execute those & id assume well be just fine.

I'm not saying anyone on our roster would have done better than Rosier. I'm 100% certain none of them would have.

That's not the issue. The issue is if there would have been a draft of ACC starting QBs at the end of last season, he likely would have gone in the bottom 1/3rd or worse.

The top three games you just listed yielded just over 60% passing and 4 TDs.

By just about anyone's rating scale that's average.

The rest were nothing short of atrocious, and got worse by the game.

Ur a fool if you think a qb who openly only makes one read can thrive against a defense who is known for its aggression at the line & blitz packages. If malik is the qb that game could get real ugly... no matter how short his choker is.

I’ll take Malik with a healthy offense—not down his best rb, we, and te, and our defense against LSU any day.

Nkosi in no way, shape or form wins anywhere near 10 games last season. It's a fact he did not start getting some of the playbook down until the final quarter of the season. And what he did get was minimal. **** he still doesn't have a large portion of ir down. So how do you come up with he produces similar results as Malik when he has very limited knowledge of the playbook, plus he can't even be efficient whith what he does know in non contact scrimmages?

Youre entitled to that. My issue with that would be the vast majority of last season chris was healthy... didnt seem to matter much. Although mark was running great to that point ur acting like hes a huge upgrade over homer last year. Travis wasnt our issue. Far as ahmmon goes i can atleast see the logic in that. Him running bubble screens all game opposed to jt or harley or langham or dayal is a huge difference. Maybe ahmmons bubble screens result in a net gain of 1.5 yards per completion as opposed yo the others... dont see any difference from that. Point is healthy or not our offense has zero room to grow if malik & his shoe lace bubble screens is still the option. Were all entitled to opinions though bruh. No arguement here. If you think lsu will be as bad as they were last year than youre praying on an anomaly. Be real with yourself. Dont expect the TEAM to be so flawed.

not only that, but as much as I want to kick LSU's ***, the ACC play is what matters. Week 5 is the real cut off point for the freshman to truly earn the starting job.
