Scrimmage #3 Stats / Discussion

don't like that completion pct vs scout team, but with Young getting a pick sounds like scout team had good players on it

I would assume that Malek Young was playing against the scout team offense and not Rosier. That completion percentage is a little worrisome, but I also don't think Rosier's strength is his ability to complete a high percentage of his throws.
There was a downpour right before the scrimmage started. The fact that he didn't fumble and threw over 200 yards with no pick with a wet ball in a single half is good

This is actually great insight. Weather was VERY bad down here this morning.

Richts statements didn't seem he was concerned one bit about his completion percentage. He even mentioned their was a down pour as practice started and that 3-4 balls were batted down and that there were some drops too.

Lets not forget Ahmmon and Berrios did not play today. We were still able to get TD's from our WR's and 200+ yards without "theoretically" (hold your comments on Berrios not being #2 behind Richards, that why I put theoretically in parenthesis) our 2 top WR's out.

Anyway, if Richt can keep the defense guessing, we have some major weapons on O this year that we have been severely lacking.

Oh God, the stats!! Can't...wait for, urgh...football to start (wince). Need for pigskin...overwhelming...

The Completion rate I can understand because of the weather, but what's worrisome is the batted passes! He's short for a QB, and I'm sure every DC knows that. Richt is going to have to get him out of the pocket or take some major 5 to 7 drops. That's what concern me about Rosier. Sidenote: Berrios was tripping about sitting this scrimmage out lol..Jeff Thomas went off lol

Rosier isn't going to be a 65% thrower, but as long as he limits turnovers and uses his legs to pick up 1st downs he can minimize that

Walton: 8.5 ypc is good to see
Thomas: 19 ypr is ******* insane, regardless of who it's against
Young: Might need to change my forecast for who is going to lead this team in picks
DL: Had several more ball knocked down. I think this is an unsung skill of our group. We bat down a ton of passes! It's demoralizing for the offense

the logic behind not having your #1 offense go against your #1 defense and vice versa is that they are in game day prep. the scout team defense is running the opposing teams defense and "looks". on defense, they are looking at and prepping against the scout team offense of the upcoming teams offense. you don't prep and play against your own teams offensive scheme all season. how the **** does that help? you go against scout team. our #1 defense will practice against the looks and plays the upcoming opponent runs.

you don't have your #1 offense or #1 defense run the other team's looks. that takes away from what we are trying to do on each side of the ball.

Haven't read the thread yet. Anyone ready to bench Rosier for hitting the same completion percentage that most of you predicted he'd have at the end of the 2017 season?
