He actually played prior to those Fiesta Bowl, Bortle years. My point was and is….They have done good work there over the last 10-15 years and produced NFL talent and top bowl game results. It should be a reminder of what good coaching can do with FL talent when it’s focused, has identity and is supported. This state has nasty good talent. When the coaching and style of play aligns, it can be unstoppable.

Each school in this state has seen what works to make each school elite level successful. Each school has done it under different coaches. Miami, UF, FSU, UCF…only USF has lagged in relative terms and they too have had their positive national moments.

Tell them to join a real conference all these yrs...and quit running from UF...UM (to a degree) and FSU....

I was hoping he’d be the one to turn around the program. He accomplished a lot at UCF and to return to his alma mater and fail I feel for the guy.

He would crash and burn there, I can’t think of a worse cultural and stylistic fit then Nebraska and urban. Not to mention that urban Meyer only goes to places where he knows he can win and where he knows are set up to win. He does NOT build programs. His only “leap” was to the NFL and it was a because he had to be someone to truly build something. His success points only last a few years, after that it all breaks down on him

They joined the BIG12 (With BYU, Cincy, Houston)and start conference play next year. They beat the Gators easily last January in their bowl game. I believe they have UF scheduled to play a 4 game series soon. They’ve played UM twice, both close games (home and away).

There is not a big gap at all between the FL programs.
 
I’m of the belief that Nebraska is never coming back. It’s too hard to recruit in Lincoln, especially when you have Michigan, OSU, and Penn State breathing down your neck. I think they could land a good coach and be a Top 25-20 team year to year, but they don’t have what it takes to attract the talent they need to be elite.

LOL, Nebraska has money, they don't care about any of that ****. They've been selling out home games since forever, and they travel well.

Different circumstances. For one, its not a complete pain in the *** to get to Tuscaloosa like it is to get to Lincoln. Additionally, Bama rose at the turn of a major CFB shake up. Nebraska’s been irrelevant longer than we have. The elite Big 10 schools have been killing them in recruiting for the better part of two decades. I just don’t see how they make their school, without a significant infusion of cash and NIL (their new TV deal can help here) a top destination for recruits. They’d need a top HC candidate to turn that place around, and idk who they go after right now.

I think you should field a competent unit… but having true specialists or even a Devin Hester now a days is kinda pointless due to the way the league rules are which is sad…

Pats still trying to find an edge and outsmart folks I guess… but I’m sure most wish they put that same energy into finding a competent WR in the draft
 
Huskers should admit that they cannot recruit the same kids that ND, Mi, OSU, and the like recruit. 5hey should pick something odd, like the military schools Have done. Then out bid those schools and get the best athletes who are unfit for the modern offenses.

I read someone they are pumping into NIL so expect them to be a player once they get the right staff in place. The sport is all about money now
