Mallory is overratedI can't shake the feeling that this is going to be closer to reality than most will admit. If we're being real here there's just too much heat on them to expect them to come out flat again. Losing to App St was the worst thing for us tbh.
Josh Pate just said King and Johnson are splitting first team reps. Everyone wants to **** on Johnson, but our CB outside of Tyrique can make anyone look good. Ivey IS going to get burned at some point. That's a given. Haynes can run on our LB.
I won't be surprised if their D is jumps a pass to Restrepo because everyone in the building knows he's TVD's safety blanket.
This would be a good time for Mallory to remember he exists. He has 7 targets, 2 catches and fewer yards than Skinner, who has one catch on the season. Last week TVD had 9 incompletions and on 4 of them he targeted Mallory, who didn't catch a single pass.
But hey.. maybe they're such mental midgets that they straight give up if we score early.
Whats with the SEC worship? The silly narrative of not being physical enough to compete with an SEC team? There are good and bad SEC teams. Wearing an SEC patch on the jersey doesn't suddenly make Missouri, Vandy...or yes, A&M, into Georgia or Alabama. LSU is a big name program of the mighty SEC and lost to a mediocre FSU. A&Ms "SEC" patch didn't help them beat App St. A&M is a team full of question marks just like we are, regardless of the name of the conference.35-17 TAMU
This team is not physical enough yet to compete with an SEC opponent.
Our slow footed linebackers and horrible cover corners are gonna get
Toast this game and our O line ain’t ready yet. We are a year or two away but headed in the right direction.
We haven’t beaten anyone on the road with a pulse since 2002. That’s all that needs to be said.Whats with the SEC worship? The truth hurts but you are right. Way too many people were thinking 10-2 or better.I'm glad your being realistic about this, and I hope Steele is in position to implement that exact game plan. I'm just not sure he will be.
Jimbo said the reason he went with King is because he knows more of the playbook. One look at our film and he'll realize he doesn't need the entire thing.
Our LB are exploitable because they're slow.
Our D-line has depth and can stop the run, but who do we have on the edge that scares anyone? Mesidor is recovering from injury. Guys like Kelly and Taylor aren't there yet. The most memorable thing about Harvey is that a poster on here took a picture with him and a few others outside the bookstore.
He wants to see Blades and Ivey on the field together. If I saw them I'd run the hurry up until Mario calls timeout. No way I'm letting that combo off the field.
Like I said earlier, Mallory was targeted 4 times last week without catching a pass, but did manage to get called for holding (which was the only time he managed to block the man in front of him). We don't know if Zion is healthy. And I'm concerned about them expecting the predictable Restrepo 3rd down target, and jumping the route.
I'm in the "see it to believe it" camp when it comes to Gattis opening up the playbook. Until proven otherwise, opening it up means **** like jet sweeps, trick plays and more runs between the tackles out of different formations. That'll show em.
Tbh I'm expecting the first two plays to be, in no specific order, a quick out to Restrepo and a run between the tackles.
All this isn't to say we suck, our coaches suck or that we can't win. But we have well known issues. Everybody was predicting 9 & 3 before the season for reason.
