Off-Topic Schools Are Back and Confronting Severe Learning Losses

Sure, we should have just let everything open and let an unknown virus go rampant on the public. Smart idea.

And kids are absolutely incapable of transmitting the virus to more endangered people. I completely forgot, kids never transmit diseases to others.

Okay, lets end the sarcasm for a moment and lets be real: What was the alternative? Let everything open as it used to be? Ok. What happens then? No one knows.
You don’t shut down your economy for any reason. At all. Period. There was data in June that showed kids weren’t real vectors. Schools opened that fall in plenty of places. Stop the revisionist history. Everyone who paid attention and wasn’t driven by fear, power, and money, knew. Maybe don’t let teachers unions decide policy, next time.

China be lockin down and they still kicking it in math and science.
Did China release post pandemic K-12 results?

Not that anyone should believe those results anyway... since they lied about how many people were infected and died of their virus

I'm sure someone already responded... but Sweden didn't lockdown and that ended up being the correct strategy. This article says it let the elderly down, but we knew almost immediately that it hit the elderly, so Sweden should have protected them better by certain isolation strategies. But the lockdowns, in hindsight... were the wrong way to go...

Uh... yes? We knew early on this wasn't a threat to 99.9% of healthy people. We should have qt'd the elderly and comorbid - not the whole damned population.
No, you don't. Its a virus that has mutated and has adjusted to various ages of people.

Yes, because Swedens people are smart enough to distance themselves, get vaccinated and isolate themselves when they got ill.

Do that in most countries and hospital are ******* exploding.

Uh, yes, you do.

1. To protect your citizens from a mutating your virus to adjusting into your age group.

2. To prevent the medical system from collapsing.

Theres no point in keeping an economy open if the medical system has collapsed and the workforce is ill at home.

Its not even revisionist history at this point, its that you are proclaiming to open everything up without knowing what happens. Even Florida put restrictions up outside of essential services.

And I am not suggesting the way how it was handled was correct. I am suggesting simply letting everything open and play itself is an easy strategy to take if the consequences arent fully known (no, Florida and Sweden are not examples).

There will be more damage caused by the response to the virus than the actual virus.

Closing anything is a joke. Let alone for a virus with a 99.8% survival rate. And just imagine how many people were overcounted and how many cases were undercounted. The actual death rate is probably around .000001%

Medical system going down lmao. There were nurses dancing in videos. And then they fired them for not take a jab, supposedly during the height of it all. It was never an issue.

You could work for BBC or CNN with those talking points. Only thing missing is 'two weeks to flatten the curve' lol.

Regardless of countermeasures, the virus showed a similar pattern in just about every country of the world. The lockdowns, masks, and vaccines did nothing but prolong the pandemic.

The hubris of people to think we could stop the proliferation of a coronavirus.

Excuse me sir, but I’ll need to see your medical degree and your Twitter blue check mark to prove you know what you’re talking about. If not I’m gonna have to report this post as misinformation and abuse.

I'm not a biologist, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night...

Attack the teachers, attach the scientist, install authoritarian stooges to replace them. Praise the leader. GOP agenda.

It was a bad initial decision. It was even worse for places like California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, etc to keep pushing it when it was coming out early on the lockdowns didn’t make a difference. Also that people will have bigger issues from the locking down of economies than they ever would from wuhan.
