Schefter: CFB is going to happen this season

Follow the money.

No way in **** the NCAA was about to let BILLIONS of dollars go down the drain.

Maybe they'll move the season back to October or something, but make no mistake about it, we playing some **** college ball this year.

Well, looky here...

We've got 5 months to figure this out and start the season on time. Think about how much has happened in the last two weeks, and put that in the context of how different the world can be in five months. Don't be a prisoner of the moment and of panic. Think.

Yeah, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter, and it's not an oncoming train. It never was.

i saw OUs AD was saying a Jan/Spring season. if major CFB states choose to remain closed, i can see what the OU Ad said. just depends on how the next few months go and then which states open stuff back up (ex: if OH and Mich remain closed, but IL or WISC open up, hard to have a b10 season). if we can remain distanced through the end of may (likely) and see where we are with mass testing, im hoping were at least back to semi normal living in june/july (gradual opening). idc if there are no fans in a stadium or even a late fall start.

There was never a doubt in my mind. Props to the NFL for paving the way and sticking their middle fingers up to the world by leaving the NFL draft day untouched. I read yesterday that the Bundesliga soccer league in Europe is getting ready to start back up as well. Hopefully the momentum continues.

the only argument in delaying the draft was prospects pro days/visits got cancelled so those that didnt work out at the combine never got a chance to for teams. draft is easiest to keep though since its all virtual

It's still a move against the mainstream. The NFL has been criticized plenty for not cancelling it.

my only gripe about it would be that a team like the fins didnt get to bring in Tua in first hand to evaluate him (tried to before the deadline, couldn't in time i believe). either way, teams have an idea of who theyre going after back in feb and even before imo. likely really only hurts the later round prospects who rely on the pro days and individual workouts bc theyre not combine guys

fwiw, the only issue i saw with the draft was intending to keep it in person in vegas. once they moved off of that, didnt hear too many complain about it

Not sure what you've been watching, there's been complaints galore. Even yesterday some execs were trying to use the excuse of not wanting to have IT specialists in their house during the draft as it violates "social distancing" rules. There was a blurb on rotoworld about it.

The NFL's on an island here.

i did see that. all i can say is that those execs are dumb as rocks if they cant figure out a basic internet connection and cloud video services (spare me on security, theyre drafting players not relaying top secret info)
