Savor it

As one of the oldest here, I lived the glory years. This is exactly how it felt then. We all wore our gear. We stood taller around those in rivals’ gear. We made beer bets never thinking that we might have to pay. **** we were CANES. We didn’t care how many of us there were-we found each other and were brothers (and sisters). We screamed when we won and cussed when we didn’t. We lived in the spotlight-unafraid. Monday will be glorious my friends. It is our destiny to triumph. It is our Kismet!!!! We are CANES!
I was such an arrogant prick when I was in HS and 20’s lol. I’d bet people and give ridiculous points to them. We’d be favored by 7 and I’d be like “ make it 14, we’re beating your asses “. In HS i’d get off the bus in the unloading zone doing the tomahawk chop and screaming their war chant after beating FSU. Looking back I was so awful

Well said. I just turned 41 two weeks ago. It’s been a long long road of watching Canes games. I’ve watched them all. I sat through all the disgusting loses, the ups, the downs, the sanctions, the cloud, that rat Nevin, remember the Edge game agaisnt UCLA, the fiesta bowl sadness, watching Alabama beat Miami when I was 7 and didn’t really understand while I was watching with my family, growing up in Alabama listening to tide fans for most of my twenties say how Miami was dead.

As I lay here sick on my couch and not going to the game I said I would never miss if it ever came a possibility, I can’t describe how the last few months have felt. Cherish every minute of all of it cause it’s not guaranteed.

I hope and think Miami will be regulars in the playoffs but it’s harder than ever now to win. The multiple game playoffs are a real gauntlet unlike anything schools back in the day had to face. If Miami closes this it out will be one of the most magical runs ever and be a 30 for 30 part 3, no doubt!

Let’s ******* go!!!!!!

I’m not gonna front..2017 was fun too. Very fun. Just ended with a thud. But the fact that we could win the national title at the end of Monday night is beyond comprehension. Especially on MLK day!
2017 was fun but I knew we were frauds deep down and was waiting for the other shoe to drop. This team I actually believe could make a run and was talented enough to beat anyone. That’s why I was so furious after SMU. I thought we wasted a great team.

I had a standing bet with the guy I now call my Bull Gator partner. I got the Canes against everyone in every game for a case-straight up win. He took the gators and the points. In 1987 I came home to a stack of 20 cases on my front door. Yes there was attitude……..

This season so much reminds me of what it felt like to be a Miami fan from '85-'03. Playing for and winning titles. I am so proud of this team. I will be elated with a W. A loss would be disappointing, but the love and respect will be forever with this program.

And this is only the beginning!

I’m 69. I remember the whole Miami town going nuts over the Canes and the Phins.
You didn’t even have to watch the game to know they won. Fireworks, gunfire and horns filled the night after we won. I personally laid on my horn.
Solidarity brothers.
I’m not down in the 305 anymore but expect noise Monday night.
The wife promised a special treat after we win on Monday.
She does not cook

I wasn’t around in the 80’s -but it seemed like the city embraced those teams as their own- very much to this years team.
It seems this team has captured the city and the surrounding neighborhoods more than those great teams in the late 90s
I was just in high school then, and those were greet teams and the 01 team the greatest of all time, the city just seems to have a diffent vibe for this team and are fully in support and taking a great pride in what this team has done and acclompished

I’m definitely savoring this run..I was a 21yr old punk kid when we lost the fiasco bowl, didn’t bother me too much at the time figured we be back again but little did I know.

I was a drunk 17yr old who thought Miami was going to dominate football for the rest of my life.

Little did we know how quickly it was going to all come crashing down.

Playing in bowl games against Nevada, half back passes in the Sun bowl, blowouts to Virginia. Just a brutal last 22 years

I’m from Orlando, been a fan of this team since 1998 when I was 11. Went to my first game at the OB the following year and fell in love with that dump. Winning the title in 2001 was something I’ll never forget and to this day the only championship won by any of my sports teams that I’ve actually been able to experience in the moment. It felt like we were never gonna lose again. Going through the last 23 years has taught me to never take anything for granted.

So enjoy the moment, talk your ****, and let’s go win #6.

What beer do you drink?

Grown man post

He’s not all bicep veins folks

I know for me, I’m going to take a good bit of time before the game to just appreciate it

This is a special group of young men

From the moment the team rallied around Toney and he ended up scoring the winning touchdown I knew this team was more than just talented

Indiana is a talented team full of good people and good stories I’m sure…but this group is undeniable

It’s blasphemy to say maybe, but this is the most fun I’ve ever had watching Miami

One more rep
