George reminds me of Olave from Ohio State. Smooth route runner natural pass catcher with deceptive speed.
“Quality guys” is what concerns me regarding the portal. I’m interested to see what this next wave of additions to the portal brings to the table. There were some heavy hitters in that first wave.I know all will play, but you believe 22 gets the nod over a healthy 2?
Need the portal additions to count and get some quality guys in here if the opportunity presents itself. Very excited about Skinner. Him + Bissainthe both.
Good stuff.
This. Dont need no "solid" jags. We need some difference makers up front.“Quality guys” is what concerns me regarding the portal. I’m interested to see what this next wave of additions to the portal brings to the table. There were some heavy hitters in that first wave.
Bro, Arroyo is going to kill it this season. This is coming from 2 people who have seen him practice. When TVD was asked about receivers he went right to Jacolby and then mentioned Restepo as well. But he definitely called out Jacolby first as a standout.
No mention of Arroyo with the tight ends? Group seems deep. Would love to see some 3 TE sets with Mallory, Arroyo, and Skinner all on the field this Fall. Defense wouldn't know what to do.
I was thinking we go portal for a CB, but I had to remind myself, TS is in a red jersey, K. Rogers is still working his way back as well, Porter still is coming in, Graves and Jaden Harris will be here soon. That’s five guys we haven’t seen yet. So maybe that’s what the staff is waiting on? Because I was wondering, why aren’t they looking at K. Smith, was transferred out of Ole Miss.DMoney, do you think Porter is enough at CB or do you see us adding another guy there?
Thanks.
Have heard comments that Jaleel Skinner looks like he will be hard to keep off the field as well. Might have a higher upside than any TE currently on the roster. Believe he has ... right now ... more of a WR body as far as weight goes but he apparently really has ball catching skills and is quick.Bro, Arroyo is going to kill it this season. Front 7. There will be more additions.Biggest weakness in your opinion?
I could see us standing pat unless a true impact guy comes available. Graves will have a chance to play.DMoney, do you think Porter is enough at CB or do you see us adding another guy there?
Thanks.
If we can grab 1 more DT and DE, then we should be in a solid shape. Both of them don't have to be starters or stars, just solid enough to be good back ups and to add more depth.Front 7. There will be more additions.
Chaney is more explosive and Franklin is more consistent down-to-down. He is like old Frank Gore in that he rarely takes losses. Excellent lean and vision.D$, how does Franklin compare to a healthy Chaney?
Any buzz on the Jacksonville State kid (DJ Coleman)?Front 7. There will be more additions.
Our team is defined by the QBs. TVD and Garcia are excellent.Do you think we are better at this time then we were last year? We lost a lot of close games last year.. can these guys win those games based off better coaching and defensive scheme?
The OL will be better. It was already a good pass-blocking unit by the end of the year and it is becoming more physical in the run game.Great stuff @DMoney
Would you say that the OL has been a pleasant surprise regardless of the injuries? If the OL begins to gel this offense will be scary good. K. Smith, J.George and X will be the starters. What I want to see going forward is for the 4-6 WRs to steadily improve and be capable playmakers. That shouldn't be too much to ask with Brinson, Ladson, Smith, Redding, Worsham and Horton competing. This TE group is going to really be something. A healthy Mallory with Arroyo and Skinner plus the RBs in the passing game is going to literally destroy defenses. If this OL can get it together in terms of run blocking then we are going to light up the scoreboard.
The situation on defense doesn't surprise me. Bozo left us with practically nothing in terms of the front 7 but we have to do the best we can with what we have for now. Adding more via the portal is a no brainer. We desperately need a Mike LB, another DE, a DT and another CB. We add those pieces plus get everyone back from injury and we can be a good defense. What's obvious is that as bad as we thought the situation on the front 7 was, the reality seems to be that it's even worse. Not one mention of Cave, T. Johnson, Troutman, or Huff is very telling and outside a few words from Strong during a post practice interview, Flagg hasn't exactly set the world on fire but that was expected more or less. It's unfortunate that Chase Smith has missed a huge opportunity this spring but once healthy he will have his shot. The LB corps looks like Steed, Smith, Smith and Bissianthe with Gil at the Star position. The next 2 recruiting classes will need to address the front 7 in a big way.
Arroyo is an absolute stud. One of the best players on the team. Think he was nicked yesterday.Bro, Arroyo is going to kill it this season. This is coming from 2 people who have seen him practice.
I expect us to make a run there now that Agude is in the fold.Any buzz on the Jacksonville State kid (DJ Coleman)?
