I think Barber is right. Although I don’t think ‘doesn’t love football’ is a new red flag. Coaches have talked about players love of the game for a long time. And you had to love it before the money got so big.
How many times have we seen professional players get a big contract and then not live up to it?
It’s the same in college now.

Point being most kids had to grind to get that scholarship offer and then grind all through college before they got to the league. And then they had to earn it again. Now some kids are walking into NFL draft interviews already a millionaire.
