Sanders Tears

SIAP….. this is just one team but a team that needed a QB. Is it the whole story? Maybe or maybe not but when things like this leak and the evidence is no one drafting you, instead of inventing a narrative that they are out to get him, maybe he should look himself in the mirror.

If it looks like a you problem, quacks like a you problem, it’s likely a you problem:

I'll put my .02 - Are we really surprised that Sanders still isn't drafted?

- His father literally told certain teams to not draft his kid, as he wouldn't let him play for certain organizations
- Didn't go to the combine
- Apparently did horrible in interviews

The media ran with the narrative that he was at minimum the 2nd best QB in the draft; some had him better than Ward which was crazy.

If he’s in the top 2 college QBs… then wouldn’t common sense tell u that the unnamed assistant coach is right?
You would think….. but that equates to what one team felt. This feels like something else. 31 other teams, all passed him up? Every time, albeit a lot of them didn’t have a need at QB. Was he unprepared for EVERY **** interview that he had? Did he blow off interview preparations for the other teams as well. I’m sure Deion’s “I’m gonna Eli this draft”, didn’t help his cause either. This is just wild. The truth will slowly leak out.

The biggest issue is he severe lack of maturity. He’s talented enough to be an NFL QB. Maybe even a quality starter. Are there QBs who’ve had a “me first” attitude? Absolutely.

Brashness, ****y, or any of those characteristics can be attributed to so many people in the league. By itself that not the issue… it’s that he’s nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. He thinks he’s “there” already. So can he be coachable? He’s only been coached by his dad (and or people employed by his dad) so you can’t trust their word. Not because they are liars but because of the natural bias there.

I don’t think talent or lack thereof is in question. It’s how he moves… can you trust Shedeur to lead a locker room of 30+ year old grown men. Will they get behind him and what he says… the “way” he leads? When I hear him speak I don’t see it. Even in the videos of him Cam training together you can see by the way Cam talks to him there’s a huge difference in mentality… their approach to the game, training and life for that matter.

When I watched Colorado, which I did quite a few times. I saw empty calorie stats. No run game, game already lost and he’s making throws and piling up yards in games that either already decided or they “can’t” do anything else. Not all the time but often enough. He’s not trash by any stretch but as a poster previously mentioned “the juice isn’t worth the squeeze”. Everything that comes along with him you deal with it if they are a can’t miss difference maker. He’s not that.

Agreed.

The Miami Hurricanes of the 80s and early 90s may have been the most polarizing team in sports. You and I love the swagger, but opposing fans hated it because they weren’t accustomed to it. Swagger was new. Those teams also had heart and did not tolerate losing. Those Miami teams earned it.

I think it’s different today. Swagger comes off as an entitlement not one deserved through hard work and success. Remember our bull**** turnover chain? It was a nice novelty the first year, when the Canes were winning, somewhat. Soon we saw players wanting the chain after creating a turnover yet the team is losing, sometimes badly. I was happy Mario got rid of that nonsense day one. Swagger is not a slogan on a t-shirt or a social media post.

Yes, there are racist fans but most fans happy about Sanders’ draft fall aren’t enjoying the moment because of race. The glee comes from the PR from his father, from Sheduer, and from the media hyping up what they perceive as an entitled kid.
People were turned off by Joe Namath's confidence, but it was based on results. Same with the Canes of the 80s.

But I digress. Those who know, know that when I post certain things, adamantly, there’s a 99.9% chance I post it b/c I heard it from direct sources. But ya’ll continue to argue amongst urselves. Nothing about Shedeur is “off field” related; the moment u realize that the NFL is ran by a certain mindset, & Shedeur represents a threat to that mindset, u’ll see the bigger picture vs. allowing personal feelings for his last name to create myopic views. I 1000% guarantee if he was a Cane or the son of a Cane, 97% of the bull **** circular reasoning in this thread wouldn’t exist.

Is there some truth to the idea of what he is saying? Definitely.

Is it THE reason or even a big reason to why he hasn’t been drafted? Definitely not. On a list of 99 problems that maybe 70 at best.

I don’t care for the way that he frames it as Shadeur being some martyr which he isn’t.

It’s an ESPN level scorching HOT take aka utter garbage ragebait meant to be clipped and shared for people to start tweeting about.

Namath also had a flamboyant lifestyle, for the times, in the late 1960s.

That and the AFL was an upstart league against the old-school NFL.

Same with the 80s Canes and the NCAA blue bloods.

OK; like I said & I f’s w u, it’s best to just argue among urselves.

So a team that wants to draft Shadeur contacts who (no agent), to find out if pops approves? Seriously, Team A calls Deion or Shadeur to find out IF they approve of the selection? Sounds reasonable to me🤔.

But I think me & u both agree, that CFB players shouldn't have unlimited power because it inevitably creates players that are selfish, entitled, & complacent. College athletics should never be about securing "a bag" or generational wealth; that's what professional sports are for.

There's a reason why the NFL is the most profitable sports league on the planet, & it has to do with not empowering players disproportionately. It is the complete opposite from the poorly run NBA which has lost 48% of it's viewership since 2012. I wish this wasn't the case, & players could have unlimited power, but the sad reality is the majority of players are extrinsically motivated & are only playing for money. If players were intrinsically motivated like MJ & Kobe, then it wouldn't matter if they got paid $0 or $1 billion/yr, because their approach to the game would remain the same, & the overall product wouldn't suffer.

apparently the moron told the giants in his interview that they shouldn't consider him bc he wont be there and didnt even bother coming in prepared for film breakdown
That’s not smart! At all!!! If that’s the case, they just served his *** a big piece of humble pie. Hope he got the message, and it affects him positively.
