Sanders Tears

I think you’re only partially correct. I think his annoying dad and his entitled/flashy personality are what people don’t like. Same way they don’t like baby Gronk and didn’t like prince Haseem for example. Him being black is not the reason. It’s how they both act.

Good luck finding a white professional athlete that talks as crazy and is as flashy as Deion or his son. Maybe Jason Williams?
Actually not hard to find. Johnny Manziel.

People are rooting for failure because they don't like Uppity N's.

They're just not going to say it, but that's really all it is.
Terrell Owens, Deion Sanders, Cam Newton got drafted.

While guys with impressive accomplishments and traits dropped like Marino, Montana, Brady, Tebow.

I’d agree with you 30 years ago, but the NFL is about as DEI as you can get.
You think Mike Tomlin doesn’t have any say in the Steelers draft, who needs a QB as much as anyone, was being racist by passing on Sanders multiple times?

Spot on

I just laugh at the NFL anyway. If Sanders was Joe Burrow coming out he would still be #1

These guys love to make examples out of people when it’s convenient but year after year prove that talent is much more important than character

You can beat your wife or take assault rifles with you wherever you want as long as you can give them 10 sacks but now suddenly they don’t like someone’s attitude because he’s not a sure fire player

It’s a joke
Uhhh..Burrow's arm v Sanders..lol

not a fan of shadeur ... but we all know why he dropped and it had nothing to do with his play as qb
I could not disagree more with your statement, well, his attitude, definitely played a little part in his fall, it is exactly his play on the field, which is why he has fallen in the draft. Ended of the day the facts are this, he has a weak arm and no athleticism. And that won’t get it done in the NFL.

Much better. Manziel threw for 8k yards, Ran for 2k, had 93 TDs, went 20-6, beat Bama, and won a Heisman in 2 seasons. Blake Borttles was the first QB selected in his Draft.

It’s not about race. It’s this simple.

The juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

The rap career and helicopter dad with a major platform and willingness to stir **** up publicly combined with an arrogant entitled player with below average arm strength and athleticism all adds up to way more potential for drama and locker room issues then potential to be a successful starter in the nfl.

For those talking about drafting him as a backup- most franchises look at the top 100 picks as guys they are looking at to contribute right away or a qb they see potential in to groom to eventually replace an aging starter (Aaron Rodgers for example). You take ****door as a backup and the first time your starter misses an open receiver daddy will be tweeting about his kid needing to start. No franchise wants or needs this.

Let me continue to challenge, much as a law professor would.

How much better was Manziel than Sanders in college? @Memnon
In terms of stats, Manziel had better numbers.

But in terms of actual ability as a passer & diagnosing Defenses, they're not in the same stratosphere. Sanders clears him on every tangible & intangible necessary to be a good QB.

Manziel had a ton of off the field issues in college & leading up to the draft, that only became compounded once he got drafted to worse franchise in sports. He was a known hard-core drug abuser; not just a little Coke, but was an opiate pill addict & hard drinker. On top of, having a really really bad work ethic.

I'm good friends with Coach Byron Thomas who was a GA at TAMU when Manziel was there & he's personally told me stories about how Manziel never studied film. And on the rare occasions when he would show up to team meetings, he always late, followed by usually falling asleep halfway through.

All of this was known by NFL front office personnel people before the draft & he still got picked in the 1st round.

It's why what round you get picked really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. It's way more crucial where you go, as opposed to when.

The same NFL that drafted Zach Wilson, Mitchell Trubisky, Mac Jones & Mark Sanchez in the 1st round, is also the same NFL that didn't think Brock Purdy was a 1st rounder.

The league is filled with people who don't really know wtf they're doing when it comes to QB's.

Not that it matters, but here are my thoughts:

1. Stop celebrating someone’s struggles and disappointments. It’s sad and a poor example for how we should treat one another. Be kind, respectful, and have a little empathy. The world would be a better place.

2. The NFL has no obligation to draft anyone. The reasons for the owner of team not wanting someone are irrelevant. Life isn’t fair, I don’t think that’s a surprise to anyone.

3. By all accounts he seems like a good kid and while not a perfect father (who is) Deion has done a lot of great things for his children. I hope those factors translate to a happy, fulfilled life for Shedeur. He is facing some adversity and disappointment. Hopefully, the positive things in his life help him overcome it.
Well said. This is a teachable moment for him. Hopefully he can adjust where needed & be better for it. No need to try to fill his father’s shoes. Be your own man.

Are you always going to have racists rooting against people they hate? Yes, but you’ll always have way more people rooting for arrogant people to be humbled.

more people tuned in, in hopes to see “Money-May” lose because of his shear arrogance more than because of the color of his skin. Meanwhile Ali is the most beloved sports figure in American history
Ali was not the most beloved sports figure in American history until he got diagnosed with Parkinsons & couldn't talk.

In the 60's & 70's, he was anything but beloved.

All you need is one nfl front office to fall in love with a player and he gets picked. If memory serves me correctly if Cleveland had passed on Johnny he may have been waiting a while to hear his name.
