### Count former UM athletic director Sam Jankovich among those troubled by the state of the UM football program.

“The thing that bothers me more than anything is the team is not improving,” he said. “The team just doesn’t play with the intensity you need or seem to improve. I don’t think Miami has played well since joining the ACC.

“Leaving the Orange Bowl had a real impact on the program. I follow it pretty closely [from Idaho], and I don’t think it looks very good. It’s concerning. They’re losing a lot of the enthusiasm that made the program so great. It’s very disappointing to see the program just existing” instead of thriving.

He's was the best AD we could have ever hoped for and he did his damnest to get the city to get off its *** and renovate the OB while the iron was white hot. He got nothing in response...zero. A damned shame.

"If you have the number 1 team in the country, you should have the number 1 stadium in the country....". /smh when I think of the idiots in charge now.

They tore out this team's soul with the OB. If you been to Joe Robbie Stadium (its real name), you know.

He also helped run off the best coach we had in Howard. He and Howard were always battling for control and he didn't even fight for him to stay because of it.

Not sure most people will agree that Howard was the best coach we ever had.

Howard certainly was the biggest name we ever hired. If is hard to not give him best coach title since he started the whole thing and won his only shot at the NC. You have to remember that JJ, love him as we might, lost his first three bowl games. To of which would have given us the NC and one with maybe the most talented team in history(or 2nd best if you favor Reed and Co.). JJ gave us the 4-3 defense and Howard gave us the pro-sent and QB U. JJ was the better NFL HC by far, but I am giving Howard Miami. I made more money on that first NC game than all of JJ's games combined, so my view is slanted.

Howard wanted on campus stadium. Remember he had the free ticket thing going back then. At least Sam could hire real coaches to replace the one he lost.

Blame the fans and the stadium all you want, we all know coaching has led to the downfall of this program...Coker then Shannon to Golden WOOF, **** even UF had Meyer in between Zook and Muschamp...we can't get the HC right

Amen, leaving the OB was a killer....... still go to Dolphins stadium but wow no electricity in that stadium at all

Compare and contrast Sam Jankovich to Paul Dee, Kirby Hocvnt, the Ghost and the Sock Puppet and you can understand why UM Athletics and UM Football has become a cesspool. Do you think Sam Jankovich would have stood still and watched F.A.G. go 6-7 with one of the most talented teams in the country?

God bless Sam Jankovich!

Someone needs to email this to Blake James...

Could you imagine that ***** Blake James ever doing that. Get a real ******* Athletic Director that wants to win like Jankovich did and everything else will fall into place.

We lost our last game in the OB 47-0. The stadium move had nothing to do with our downturn, we were already heading in the wrong direction.
I will admit I sure miss that old chunk of steel and concrete, vendors selling meat on on a stick (what ever it was-would not touch it) and finding a shaded area to tailgate.

Stadium has nothing to do with why Miami is losing. Zero.

Coker, Golden and Shannon are the reason for Miami's downswing. Nothing more, nothing less.

Great coaches and great players made the Orange Bowl special, not the other way around. If the Orange Bowl was so important, why was Miami terrible before the arrival of Schnellenberger?

100%

Getting tired of hearing the Orange Bowl Excuse. The Former U made the Orange Bowl, not the other way around. We did have some road wins, right?

They called the meat on a stick (insert cuban accent) chick-a-bobs.
