Safeties and linebackers

It's refreshing to watch these guys play. Everything is urgent, fast and physical. Bissainthe is an NFL linebacker, Thomas and Toure set the tone, Aguirre is coming on strong, Fitzgerald is a special athlete, and Poyser is throwing his body around. I expect Chase Smith, Bobby Pruitt. Dylan Day and Kellen Wiley II to keep leveling up during ACC play.

What are you guys seeing at these spots?
They've played great all season except 4th qtr against FSU. But, it wasn't quite their fault. I put that on the DEs losing contain and putting our back 7 in bad positions the entire 4th.

I got some pushback after saying how good our LBs were against Notre Dame

It wasn’t necessarily that their talent was jumping off the screen but the little things they were doing I hadn’t seen it years (somehow)

It’s still not an elite talent group (and won’t be this year) but Heatherman has clearly figured out a way to get the most out of them so far

Toure plays with absolute pure violence and savagery on every play whether he makes it or not

I wish we would stop with the delayed safety blitzes but other than that

I want to see what we have with Bonner and alderman. If they can provide quality plays in a pinch. Just me being greedy for depth

Jakobe has impeccable timing on some of those blitzes when it's not delayed.

I don;t think Kiko is as fast as Toure. When Toure blitzes, he looks like a missile. Looks quicker in coverage as well.
I think we would have gotten a version of Kiko closer to his first year here if he was in this defense. Definitely better than last year.

Heatherman has u locked the abilities in these kids and allowing them to play fast and physical

Jakobe is incredible. Aside from Bain, nobody has consistently popped on the screen as much as this dude has the last few games.

He is literally everywhere. Best safety in a long time.

He's chasing QBs down for sacks in the backfield, making quick reads to tip passes 10 yards off the LOS, making INTs 30 yards downfield playing center field, cleaning up tackles while stripping the ball and coming up on runs, laying wood and causing fumbles. We have not had a safety this rounded in a long *** time.

Yep. The delayed blitz thing gave Castellanos so many easy throws

Toure is a really good blitzer as well

Front four can get home on its own so sprinkling in these guys can be super effective especially confusing the QBs. The telegraphed delays just make it too easy for no reason but seems like all our DCs have done it so maybe I’m just a dumbass

Kionte Scott needs to be part of the conversation to.

This units overall athleticism and discipline is VASTLY improved. Toure gets a bit too aggressive at times and gets caught, but overall, they are where they should be most of the time and it's a welcome relief not to see 40 runs, or too many big qb runs up the middle.

Notice TEs aren't beating us up the seams so far this Year?! We used to get GASHED!

I think Coach Heatherman has made the biggest impact -The communication gap has disappeared-We are reacting without confusion and everyone is swarming to the rock-

It’s made a world of difference-How can you not love what Thomas , Scott and Poyser have done-

Bissainthe has grown miles-No doubt he can make impact at the next level.
to be honest, for the first time this year against FSU on a few plays there were not ready and lined up when the ball was snapped. they were still adjusting. 1-2 plays. other than that i cannot remember when they were not lined up and ready to play even against USF

Definitely above average…

But Mo T gotta be better with his eyes cos he’s been beat by RB’s on few wheel routes

No c/o from me after last year-After that first drive they locked them up until qtr 4-

Hopefully that won’t happen again.
