The most obvious thing: competence and depth. We haven't seen this since Richt's first year at LB and the S are more disciplined than any we have had in a couple of decades, even if some of those in between were arguably more talented. They hit, they wrap, they may get beat once or twice but not repeatedly like they have in recent years. The scheme may be simpler-I'll leavet that to those who know better than me, but they play smart and physical. It's refreshing to watch these guys play. Everything is urgent, fast and physical. Bissainthe is an NFL linebacker, Thomas and Toure set the tone, Aguirre is coming on strong, Fitzgerald is a special athlete, and Poyser is throwing his body around. I expect Chase Smith, Bobby Pruitt. Dylan Day and Kellen Wiley II to keep leveling up during ACC play.

I think Fitz is light years better than Poyser (who has been decent and forced that fumble) but I get working him in and trusting the veteran to start. But with Fitz the run fits seem fine and he seems perfectly willing to tackle, even if it's obviously not his strength. I'm super excited about him. Best freshman safety play since Kenny Phillips. It's refreshing to watch these guys play. Everything is urgent, fast and physical. It really matters when you know where you have to be and can simply run there. Motion no longer has our DBs in a state of pure confusion. It also matters when your DC is ahead of the OC. Using Safeties to fill into the Cs and Edges and free up DL to do their thing is beautiful work. I don't know if Hetherman will go stale (like Guidry did after he switched to Tite fronts for some games and then went blank the following year), but so far...
Taylor recovered one of the onside kicks if I recall correctly.no mention of Malik Bryant, Bonner, Alderman, Marcelin, Ryan Mack, Isaiah Taylor and Jadais Richard.
Special teamsHas Kellen Wiley played?

I think an argument could be made for Scott at Nickel but can't disagree with your assessment of Thomas.Bissainthe has turned the corner, he is a legitimate LB and I didnt think that would happen.
Toure is a nice player that flows well in the run game.
Aguirre is decent, but looks limited athletically.
Thomas is our best DB and heaven sent.
Poyser is fine nothing special so far.
Fitzgerald is a ball hawk that will need some added strength to affect the run game.
Day is a special teams missle.

Safety play has gone from a weakness to a strength
What an eval Thomas for what I imagine was somewhat bargain bin (at least compared to Haulcy).
And Poyser had improved immensely since ND.
