Saban's Final Act

When you have his best friend as the President of the NCAA (Emmert) that tells you all you need to know. Same exact criminal activity went on at LSU where that POS Emmert was chancellor during Sabans tenure there.
Thank god for Charlie Baker coming into the role of running ncaa

These mother****ers throat Saban to no end. Saban is NOT that good of a coach. He just had the luxury of having the best of everything, buying players, and hundred god**** analysts, unlimited money from boosters to throw around. I could’ve won with what he had. **** Saban and anyone who wants to blow him. Buncha wannabe Finebaums around here.
He wasn't the greatest at michigan state was he .it just shows resources matters most .Saban is a better college coach than pro coach because there's no salary cap at alabama

Bama gets to pick who they want out of the portal (proven ballers), marginal guys who are going to lose their spots exit, and he restock with 5 stars. Doesn’t look like the new world order really hurts him.

Maybe not as much depth but his 22 starters are better than ever.
Bingo. Only thing it does is ****es him off that he has to work harder in recruiting and trying to get the donors to pay more so they can stay at the top.

I wish we could see his results without a massive money advantage... like if he coached in the NFL.. or a middling Big10 team.

He's one of the college greats if not the college goat. But Jimmy was better because he did it in the pros as well. And he didn't waltz into a stacked pro team like Switzer did.
No. He's the guy that stacked the stacked pro team, that Switzer waltzed into.

Saban just signed another #1 class. This is arguably his best class yet, and one of the 2 or 3 best classes of the 247 era.

I don’t think NIL will force Saban into retirement.
No. They just will be paying in the open now.

I peeped. How many will stay, how many will pan out, which coaches will stay to bring consistency, and will they still have that fire? Lots of unknowns. They don't seem invincible anymore like they once did. They'll be consistently good however will they be the best?
The same can be said of our class, and our coaching staff. And the classes of many other schools and the coaching staff of many other schools. I think you’re hating quite a bit. The class that he just brought in is spectacular. It makes our class look like a 1997 Ford escort.

The College Football Championship will be won by Georgia or Bama for the next few years. The talent Gap is huge.

Georgia has clearly replaced Bama as the dominant power in the SEC, how many seasons of not making the college football playoffs do you think he will tolerate before he hangs it up. Dude is going to be 72 on Halloween. These recruits signing with Bama are living in a fantasy world if they think he is going to be their coach for their entire college career. I give him 1 or 2 more seasons that he remains before he goes into the broadcast booth which he should have after his last Natty.

He has the charisma of wallpaper, I can't see him in the booth, but what do I know?

I would argue the demise of Belichick is overstated. Winning in the NFL is a whole different animal than in college. You can’t really turn things around immediately unless you bring in a very good to elite QB, and there are very few of those to go around. If Bill is still struggling to make the playoffs in 3-5 years, you can claim Brady was more than 50/50 responsible for that dynasty. But you still won’t be able to deny that Bill’s defense was the deciding factor in at least 2 of their Super Bowl seasons, probably 3.

FWIW I’m not fully disagreeing with you. I’ve always seen the Pats dynasty as 60/40 Brady
Now that hes in the nfc, i actually pull for Brady because it makes Belicheater look worse and worse.

Especially since Brady is way way past his Prime.... and still won a SBowl.

80% Brady, 20% The Cheater.

I have said this over and over and over and over and over as well as some of you when it concerns Saban. When you have a good friend who happens to be the president of the NCAA, and millions of dollars of a booster money, cars, apartments/houses, of course you're going to stack the best talent and one a lot of championships. When I talk to these people here in Louisiana about Jimmy Johnson, there are some that don't know who he is and others who only know him from being with Dallas. But the point I tried to get across to them is Jimmy Johnson was doing this same thing 30 plus years ago. The only thing that stopped Jimmy Johnson from winning four or five titles at Miami is that he decided to go to Dallas where he actually won three SB (even the season Switzer coached) Yes, the NIL has somewhat helped, but Saban and the rest of the SEC got a good 10 year head start on NIL before it became legal. So when I hear people talk about Saban being the GOAT, just like we put that * by Ohio State's 2002 title, we need to put the * besides Saban's name as well. No hate for the man or the school, just plain facts.

Saban is 71 years old. Can't see him doing this past 75, or one more title—turning 72 mid-way through the 2023 season (October).

The game is changing, NIL money is real and while he's still landing great classes—he doesn't have the depth he used to OWN in the pre-Transfer Portal era.

Bama used to boast a two-deep and second string that could still whoop most teams. That won't be the case moving forward.
Georgia is also the "new" Alabama, which will put the Crimson Tide in the Bulldogs' old seat—always in the hunt, but a small step behind the 1a SEC powerhouse.

Two years ago it was six national titles (at Alabama) over 14 seasons ... now it's six titles in 16 seasons. The legacy takes another hit every year he doesn't bring it all home and the batting average drops.

One more ring—seven titles (at Bama) over 18 or so seasons—that's a great walk-off shot before Dabo punts on Clemson and heads back to his alma mater while Saban's seat is still warm.

You know, when people first said it, it sounded good and it made sense. Coming off two Natty's Dabo's star was bright. Now, it looks like Clemson has ran its course. Sure, they will still be in the "hunt" every year like Penn State 11-2 etc, but I don't think they win anymore Natty's while Dabo is there. What I'm saying is, for me, I'm not sure Dabo replaces Saban when he's done. Sure, it would make logical sense however with Dabo, it seems more he is a product of what was build around him and hitting big on his assistant hires. With Saban, yea that too however, he's more of a "pure coach" vs a CEO. I don't think Bama is the same when you replace a pure Coach (Spurrier, Kelly, Fickell) with a CEO type Coach ( Mario, Dabo, Urban). We'll see, but I wouldn't automatically peg Dabo as the air apparent automatically.

Georgia and Alabama to name the top two, will still recruit at the very highest level. While the rest of us have NIL, they have NIL as well, and they’re continuing to distribute bags under the table.

They already have their illicit bag network in place, you best believe they’re going to continue to use it to pay players. Now they can add NIL to their pay for play scheme. We just have NIL.

They are always going to have that advantage.

Listen, there’s a segment in this fan base that loves holding on to old chit or using old chit to discredit ppl. This is no shot at u, but I’ve seen this argument for a while to put a chynk in Saban’s coaching ability, along w The Miami Dolphins.

Let me be clear; I’m not a Saban diznyck rider, but like w/ all other greats who I don’t too much care for, I have a certain level of respect for them & I won’t look for ways to discredit them.

So let’s talk about Saban & his previous stops at Toledo & MSU:

Saban took over a Toledo program as a 1st time HC, taking over a team that went 22-17-1 the previous 4 yrs under Coach Simrell, & 12-10 in the last two. Saban went 9-2, won the conference in his 1st season. He resigned to become Bill Belichick’s DC for the Cleveland Browns. B/c of his success as a DC, that led him to MSU.

MSU is a CBB school first & foremost. Saban took over a MSU program that went 19-26 over the last 4 seasons under Coach Perles, including 11-12 the last 2 seasons, and were under sanctions due to an academic scandal. 1st yr, they went 6-5-1 their first winning season since 1990, & finished w/ a 9-2 record his last yr there, which was their best season since 1987.

He took over a LSU program that was 26-20 over the past 4 seasons, including 7-15 over the last two seasons under Coach DiNardo. Immediately, they became contenders and eventual Nat’l Champions

He took over a Bama program that went 26-23 over 4 yrs under Coach Shula, & was under sanctions, & we know what has transpired.

However u want to slice it, dude can coach. His coaching has been amplified b/c he’s a savage recruiter who gives two fcks about the next team. He’s slimy, grimy, & cut throat af, but most successful ppl r. He’s petty af too, but again, a lot of successful ppl r. He’s built a factory; ya’ll keep saying how can Kid A want to go to bum fck America, & kid A don’t even return to Bama…

1. Kid A sees bum fck America as NFL draft central which is going to get him paid as a recruit and as a draftee.

2. Kid A sees bum fck America as winning 101

3. Kid A tends to come back when bum fck America is in a Nat’l title game or big bowl game on the sidelines, or it’s most likely b/c Kid A is too busy playing NFL football b/c of point #1.

Edit: since when is a common word chynk (had to misspell on purpose) a censored word??
