UNC is a solid team, but they weren’t 30 points better than us.

I predict a dream season every offseason, but I don’t judge the team based on wins and losses in a vacuum. You can play well and lose and play like **** and win. I always judge us by discipline, fundamentals, and strategy. That’s all coaching and weave been inconsistent in those areas for a long time.

UNC is NOT(edit) talented enough to be going on win streaks against us. If Manny loses to them again, it is a bad sign. This ain’t like Clemson trying to overcome Florida State.

Same here. W & L are a great gage, but how we play is a better indicator.

No they didn't bro. What they did is impressive and worthy of respect but it pales in comparison to what we did when you consider the NFL impact; impact on the game itself by way of announcers and commentators and other mega influencers; and sheer impact on American culture in general. We didn't just take college football by storm, we took the country by storm!

The other eight times it was Alabama. Their 2021 class is the highest ranked class ever by 247. They recruit at such a high level that the gap between them and almost every other team is miles. Our absolute best classes we’ve signed over the last 15 years would be their worst. I give Saban credit for acquiring the ridiculous amount of talent he has over his tenure (whether legally or not). He hasn’t developed any particularly creative scheme or system. His actual coaching background is in an outdated defensive scheme that nobody runs anymore anyway. He is an elite talent acquirer. Players, coaches, the five hundred “analysts” that Bama employs. He doesn’t have to do much besides answer questions from the media every week

You sound very salty bro. What you said about Saban you could say about every championship coach in America ever. Saban is a lot like Butch Davis. He knows were to find talent and how to develop it. He does both at a very high level. And when I mean talent I mean players and coaches. He will go down in history as the best coach to ever walk out on the field when it is all said and done. And I hate Bama. But I gotta respect Saban, dude is the best college head coach money can buy, period.

IMO he isn’t the best coach. He does develop guys, but for all the talent he brings in, he should have 20 guys dominating the NFL but he doesn’t. That says a lot.

U know U’re my guy, right; but bro, u do know that The NFL just dropped their top 100 players, and Bama led all schools w/ the most players on there, right? Literally the NFL Network gave Bama free publicity by highlighting how they had the most players in the Top 100. A lot of the guys he’s put in The NFL have made multiple pro bowls. Have their been some absolute bust? Absolutely; but every school can claim to have some absolute bust, including us.

Unfortunately for us, that bust mantra Bama was plagued w/ in the early 2010’s is starting to shed. The good news is that The Gaytors r still #1 in that dept.

I get what you’re saying but I’m saying in comparison to how many first rounders he’s put in the league, it’s not wildly impressive. They have a bunch of guys that don’t qualify as “busts” but they don’t live up to their perceived potential.

The law of large numbers.

You better be putting a ton of NFL players in the league if your three deep bench warmers are recruits that rejected schools like Miami.

Look at their recruiting rankings for the last 15 years. Look at all the five stars, look at all the high four stars. Now compare it to middle of the road recruiters such as Miami.

We’re not going to out-talent them except, maybe, at the quarterback position. So what else is there? If we beat them (18 point dogs) it’ll be coaching and execution. Seriously doubt Alabama is going to make a ton of mistakes that we can capitalize on. Maybe we get a couple of turnovers going our way, but that won’t be enough.

Listen, I’ll put it like this, I was high on the hog when we went 14 yrs str8 w/ at least one 1st round pick. (33 in total, 6 shy of Saban’s 14 yr tenure)

Bro, do u think I was nitpicking on our staff for Lang, Green, Rumph, Morgan, Williams, Winslow, Carey, McDougal, Joseph, McKinnie, Buchanon, Lewis, Holmes, etc not living up to their perceived potential? **** naw. Some got injured, A LOT went to **** *** NFL programs that were actually a step below our program, while others just didn’t put in the work to keep up….at the end of the day, that’s not an indictment on the coaching staff.

The coaching staff’s job is to win games at The University of Miami, win championships at The University of Miami, recruit & develop the best players to play for The University of Miami, and put them in a position to get drafted in the 1st few rounds. What happens at the next level is not necessarily an indictment on the staff.

If Manny let’s Mack Brown tea bag him a third year in row, it will be an ominous sign predicting Manny is not the guy.

We can lose two regular season games. One to Bama and one to any team not UNC. People will ***** but overall it will be seen as a successful season.

If Mack steam rolls Manny, there will be nasty blowback. You can’t let a basketball school 3 -peat you. Only way it can explained away is if it’s close and Bama is our only other loss. Personally, I think UNC and FSU are the only two games Manny CANNOT lose. No one expects us to beat Bama and most see a random hiccup game as par for the course.

In 2004, The Miami Dolphins finished 4-12 under “The Stache” Dave Wannstedt (1-8) & Jim Bates (3-4). Enters Saban, and they finish the 2005 season 9-7, narrowly missing the playoffs. They actually finished that season on a 6-game winning streak.

Then the 2006 season happened, and Miami was favored to make the playoffs. Nick wanted Drew Brees; he knew he would be the key to get the offense to be on par w/ the defense. Dolphins mgmt ignored his request & went w/ Culpepper instead, who was coming of major knee surgery. The results? Culpepper wasn’t ready to come back, and stunk it up. The back ups? NFL bust Joey Harrington, and unknown journeyman in Cleo Lemons. The Dolphins O were Ronnie Brown & others. That’s y they went 6-10 his last yr.

That situation ****ed Saban off simply b/c he’s a control freak, and he bounced. That’s the complete story.

Ppl confuse that situation w/ his ability to coach. The two r not synonymous & I knew when he went to Bama it was going to be problems. Just like I knew when Urb went to OSU it was going to be problems. Both can coach, and when u have thirsty, blue blood boosters backing u, it’s going to be issues.

You mean to tell me that if the Dolphins made a good decision for once in their worthless lives Nick would still be in the NFL and the Bama dynasty would not have altered cfb history forever? WHAT?

Man I couldn’t imagine being a Cane fan and a Dolphin fan at the same time. Y’all the toughest mu****ers on earth. Anybody weaker would have shot themselves in the face with a 12 gauge long, long ago.

Man, try being a Bears fan & Canes fan. I’m built for this survival game. Lol. My uncle is HUUUUUUGE Dolphin fan, so I knew a lot that Brees vs. Culpepper story as he still curses The Dolphins out. Now he’s cursing them out for choosing Tua over Herbert. Lol.
