Didn't he stick around like 10 years? How many super bowl titles?None as a head coach...one as a DL coach in 87...and 2 SB Rings as an assistant with Dallas...he also has a better NFL record as a HC with Cleveland than Saban had as the Dolphins HC....

The same thing that happened to coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.said was 48-16 at LSU and 3-2 in bowls.
15-17 at Dolphins.
then he shows up at bama and is unbeatable and gets every top recruit he wants. What changed?
if you dont count bryannts first season at A&M, he was 24-5 there. The same thing that happened to coach Paul "Bear" Bryant.
No...4yrs as HC, took them to the playoffs for the 1st time since forever...then was the GM for 2yrs....Didn't he stick around like 10 years? How many super bowl titles?
Shhhhhh...don't upset them...@SWFLHurricane wonder if these guys realize bama wanted to hire butch away from us?
You're obviously new to CIS and more than likely know little about Canes history. @SWFLHurricane is our resident Canes historian and knows all things Butch Davis. He also has a memory like an elephant - (pun intended).Doesn't he coach for FIU? What did he win at Miami?
Why wouldn't you count his first season anywhere? Coach Bryant's greatest claim to fame away from Alabama was probably Kentucky. He won an SEC title and they actually claim the 1950 NC. That's still not close to Bama's success. Same with coach Saban. Alabama is a unique place to play football. Call it a machine, or whatever you like, they take football seriously. Always has. We celebrated 12 national championships before any of us knew what a Nick Saban was. To experience more success here than elsewhere is not unusual. Even Mike Shula, Mike Dubose, Dennis Franchione, won at least 10 games in a season at Bama.if you dont count bryannts first season at A&M, he was 24-5 there.
Bear Bryant also had a couple rough seasons.
Saban was at LSU a top program and he was losing 3-5 games a year.
@SWFLHurricane is on the case. He'll run them off with his infinite knowledge of Canes history. What a shameful thread.
At least we know who the elephant **** slurpers are on this site.
I expect the Saban ball licking from the backwoods Alabama honk that’s being allowed to post, but it’s pretty sickening reading it from supposed Miami fans.
come on. LSU is a way better program than Kentucky was. AWhy wouldn't you count his first season anywhere? Coach Bryant's greatest claim to fame away from Alabama was probably Kentucky. What does it all mean?
Nick Saban + Alabama = Rolling Stones.
he didnt get fired because he performed bad. he was butting heads with managementNo...4yrs as HC, took them to the playoffs for the 1st time since forever...then was the GM for 2yrs....
I remember back when one of Bear's boys built the Hurricane program. I believe his name was Howard Leslie SchnellenbergerYou're obviously new to CIS and more than likely know little about Canes history. @SWFLHurricane is our resident Canes historian and knows all things Butch Davis. And may he RIP. No doubt. Give credit where credit is due. Schnelly was the Godfather of the rise of Canes football.I remember back when one of Bear's boys built the Hurricane program. I believe his name was Howard Leslie Schnellenberger
Coach Saban never had a back-to-back 10 win season before he got to Tuscaloosa. Since then:come on. LSU is a way better program than Kentucky was. A
