Even though UGA technically signed 2 more 5 star players, Bama had the #1 overall class in three of those 5 years.

Also, while Saban isn’t particularly special in terms of on field coaching, Kirby is a legit corch. He’s killed whatever talent advantage he gets by running archaic offensive schemes and chasing off quarterbacks. Georgia almost reminds me of Miami during the Coker years. Super talented, incredible defense, hand cuffed by terrible offensive philosophy

This is the true test. Monken is a legit coach. They put up really good numbers once Daniels got in. If they suck on offense again this year, then yeah there's something really off there and Kirby is like the reverse Midas where everything he touches turns to ****.

But I measure recruiting ability by being able to get kids that may on paper been better off going elsewhere but the coaches personality and relationship steered them to a certain school.

Nobody is saying I went to bama because Saban swayed me with his charm. They go because he presented facts. His guys get drafted high he has the best of everything including coaches.

I’m sure TRob to this day still has guys in the league or out of it he still keeps in contact with.

Remember Saban is the guy that stepped over a USC(w) DT while he was convulsing and went to his office while he was the fins coach.

Yeah he’s a real charmer smh.

A great recruiter is someone that can consistently get highly ranked kids to his school despite the lack resources (legal and illegal) when compared to bama.

So true. At some point they had like 3 if not 4 5-star QBs on the roster at the same time IIRC. The ones riding the bench waiting to transfer are not going to help you win games.

At Alabama, Saban found deep pockets to buy analysts and lots of locker room toys to attract top recruits. Saban may not be a great coach, but he's always got access to at least one on his staff.
 
Here is another way to look at at..

Miami (embarrassingly) only has 1 title to show for itself, in 4 years, even though it had arguably the most talented rosters ever assembled between a 4 year period of 2000 - 2004 (ST, Vilma, KWII, Wilforks last season)

Saban would’ve won 4 straight titles with those Miami teams.

He amasses talent but his talent most likely plays like that talent. Where as UGA won't hit on as many prospects as bama will. If he was a genius he would of x and O his way into being the HC of the dolphins still.

Bama hits more on there prospects cause Saban targets the right talent. If they are low rated or high he knows their potential.

Don’t forget that when he took over, Bama wasn’t exactly scaring anybody. In fact many questioned whether he would succeed there. After he finished his first year 7-6 and signed the number 1 class, people on here said there was no way he was gonna win with a class mostly from Bama. Well he went 12-2 the second year and then won it all the third year. That was with a team of upperclassmen not being his players. Dude is the GOAT, he is only second to Butch as an evaluator but overall the GOAT.

Who's better? Other schools have just as much or more "resources" as Bama, why haven't they had the success Bama has? Because Saban isn't their coach.

he was always going to succeed there. When he got hired bama insiders said u didnt get the best coach u got the best recruiter.
