Saban disciples

Google it MF.
I don't need to....I know what Mario told me to my face before the yr started. It was Butch who gave Mario his start. Mario was on staff when Butch built the Greatest team in NCAA History without the need for a Brinks truck. A team that would've beat ANY Saban coached team. Evidently Mario wasn't paying attention, which is Ludicrous...

Bigger question; why are we working overtime to sh*t in people's salads and to tear down a coaching staff after five games, when this program has been a complete ABORTION for 16 years; Mario now the third head coach in five years and six over the past 17 seasons.

Top-notch recruiting has always been the key to success at Miami; getting the right guys, the best guys for the program, the right-fit guys, knowing how to build a roster and then getting the kids to respond. Jimmy did it phenomenally, as did his protegé Butch Davis.

Mario can recruit and he was on to something at Oregon before he left. What-say we give Miami's best coaching option in 20 years (Richt was well over the hill when he showed up) a little time to riddle-solve here.

The fans taking out 20 years of frustration on a new coach, and placing these win-immediately expectations on him are why some of y'all are SO let down right now.

Beat Virginia Tech and then focus on Duke. Seven one-game seasons remain this fall. Let's watch and see if this team improves as the games roll on, as crying the blues over the past three losses solves nothing.
1-0, repeat…

Butch was removed from UM for 7yrs before coming back with 2 SB Rings on his hand. Cheap hire isn't the word...but within 5yrs he did something no other coach in NCAA History was able to do.
Coker
Shannon
Golden
Richt
Diaz
Mario ALL (except Shannon) made considerably more than him. That tells you all you need to know.

I agree on Butch….but it was a lucky hire, and it won’t be replicated. Butch took a job that most others didn’t want and he did it because of prior connections.

Miami will spin its wheels if it keeps trying to recreate 1997 in the year 2022. It’s not happening. That’s my main point.

Most people my ***...NOBODY but him wanted it...

Well because he won multiple conference championships, NY6 bowl, and signed best recruiting classes in Oregons history. So, he has proven himself at this level as a HC.

Is he perfect? No. Is he a top 10
Coach nationally, No. He can still win big here
He won 1 conf championship in 2019. The one in 2020 is so flawed, it should be a ribbon instead of a trophy. They were 4-3 and only played in the championship game because Washington pulled out due to Covid.

Saban better personally mention and thank Butch Davis when he’s inducted into the CFB Hall of Fame. He’s gonna go down as the goat.

I made peace with Butch Davis and what could’ve been a long time ago, but it would be epic to have a crystal ball and see how many titles Butch would’ve won.

If he stays from 2000-2006ish (which is what I wanted) we have 2 more NCs...and his staff stays intact.
